I could not get over how many head stones there were and in such a peaceful location, with spectacular views of the ocean and San Diego. Such manicured grounds. What an honour and tribute to those that have served their country and have gone before us.

This was an incredible find on our travels. We happened upon this and were taken away by the beauty and impressive layout. Had the rainy and chilly weather not been a factor, we could have seen ourselves spending hours walking amongst this incredible cemetery. So thankful this was created.

I went to visit my son's crypt. The view is awesome with the beautiful grave stones all in rows and the ocean and Bay. The trees are beautiful too and the grounds are well-kept. It makes me proud to be an Americaqn and thankful for all those who served our great country.

This is breathtaking! The views from here are fantastic. I had no idea how large an area it encompasses. You get a chill looking at row after row of headstones and realizing how many gave their lives for us! A must see

Fort Rosecrans is a historic, beautiful resting place for veterans and spouses. The view of San Diego bay and surroundings is stunning. It's a place of reverence, that still encourages visitors to honor our vets and celebrate their lives at the annual Memorial Day program. This event is very well attended by the public. Consult their website for yearly details... More

It is something everyone should experience at least once in their life time. Just to park and walk among the thousands of headstones gives you a respect for what people have gone through. At the end of the road, you will find Point Loma lighthouse which gives you a great view of the city and Mexico.

This national cemetery is one of the United States' best tributes to those individuals who have served in the military for the US. Their spirits must be very happy with the ocean view.

Even if you are not from the Area it is a place for meditation. Many entrances on both sides of road.
