My husband and I went out to Fort Rosecrans to visit our brother's grave. It was solemn and deeply moving, but it is also such an amazingly beautiful location that even if you knew no one who is resting there, it is worth the visit. Perched high above San Diego Bay in Pt Loma, it is a great place to... More

This is one of the most beautiful National Cemeteries in the US. The setting is unsurpassed just about anywhere. I've been to Arlington and the Normandy Beach cemeteries and this is up with them.

I have attended 2 funerals here within the past year. The services were done very well, however you feel rushed in that the cemetery rep is there to keep everything on time. The ceremonies were both carried out in a moving and fitting manner. The cemetery is split by Cabrillo drive. On the west side you have stunning views of... More

National Cemeteries never cease to leave me in awe. Such a powerful feelings will overcome you. So many stories behind the stones. Many Medal of Honor recipients lie in this hallowed ground (to know their stories you will need to read up on them before going as the stone lists their service branch, their rank, maybe their unit). This is... More

My father is buried here and every time I come I am reminded of the sacrifices of everyone the rests here. The view out to San Diego is the perfect spot for this quite reflection.

As part of the Point Loma Lighthouse/Cabrillo Monument visit, this is worth the stop. Stunning views, and more importantly an important reminder that our freedom is not free.

We were out on the peninsula and I remembered that my uncle is buried at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. I was just a kid nut I remembered that he faced out towards the submarine base. With a little patience we found him. I was very happy to do this.
