My husband's parents' ashes are both interred at Fort Rosecrans Cemetery and we had a wonderful ceremony, complete with honor guard and the playing of "Taps" on the bugle, when they were both laid to rest. It's one of the prettiest cemeteries I've ever seen -- and I haunt graveyards all over the world. Row upon row of gravestones mark... More

This is one of the most beautiful places in the city. The impact of the thousands of those who have served is memorable. Spectacular views to the ocean and city.

Must stop and see.... You must stop on your way to Cabrillo monument. One of the most bueatiful cemeteries outside of Arlington National cemetery. The surroundings are absolutely Inspiring. The men and women who are buried their are heros.

If you are visiting the Cabrillo National Monument be sure to also stop here at Fort Rosecrans Cemetary. It is beautifully kept and there are markers dating back to WWI (and possibly older). The views towards the bay are stunning and worth a visit!

Beautiful resting place for our nation's veterans. The bay side and ocean side plots are both beautiful. It's a nice place to pay respects, and an interesting place to see the final resting place of a wide variety of war veterans, from the Spanish American War to present.

What a gorgeous place for a national cemetery. I have an uncle buried there and where he is over looks the Pacific. So peaceful and well cared for.

I've been to many National Cemeteries, and Fort Rosecrans is one of the nicest. The location juts out into the ocean and has great views on both sides. I understand the cemetery is now full, and service members are now interred at Miramar National Cemetery to the North.

Nice quiet place to visit and be reminded of all those who have served our great country. Right by the marine naval base too.

We were not planning on going here but stumbled accidentally upon it. Beautifully located on a hill overlooking San Diego on one side and the Pacific on the other. It is a beautiful place to slow down and take a breath and reflect on the sacrifices so many have made for all of us. It is laid out very similar... More

This stop was an added bonus to a trip we were making to Cabrillo National Monument. We went past so many headstones, that I asked my husband to pull over so we could see them. WOW! This was daunting and the cemetery covers both sides of the road into the national park and encompasses 77 acres. Row after row including... More
