Good place to rent bikes but is a little pricy. We booked for a full day but we’re told that full day means 8 hours! Paid 40$ per bike for hybrid road bikes for the whole day. Service is good. We paid extra for bike locks. Bike Baskets were free and included for free. Helmets were included for free.

This review is specifically at the North Mission beach location. 3830 Mission Blvd
Ricardo provided my fiancé and I with TOP Tier service!! Highly recommend North Mission Beach Rays Rentals.
We rented 2 hybrid bikes for a 4 day trip in San Diego. We did approx 30 miles of biking total, and the bikes worked perfectly.
We accidentally left for the airport without returning our bikes. We left the bikes locked up outside of our AirBnB. We got on the airplane and had a panic attack when we realized we had not returned the bikes. We called Ricardo as soon as we landed, and he was incredibly reassuring and helpful. Fortunately, our AirBNB was very close to the rental location, and Ricardo went to collect the bikes himself. We offered to pay him extra for his efforts, but he refused, and returned the bikes with no hassle. Truly a massive stress relief.

Efficient dudes rented us 5 wet suits. My information tells me the prices are quite high at this shop vs other places, but the convenient location was important to us as we squeezed in our Mission Bay tourist activities. (Fun neighborhood!) We were sized up efficiently and accurately enough. The rental period was over 24 hours - I appreciated the breathing room on the return timing. The suits were not perfect, but what do you expect when they're rented to kids?! More importantly, it was 90 degrees today so we weren't too concerned about the thermal properties. The return process was super efficient. Thanks, Rays, for helping landlubbers get into the local waters!

We rented bikes for the entire day, and it was a great experience. We had fun biking on the path by the beach. It was a bit nerve wracking when we were on the busy sections, but most of the time it was relaxing and fun.
The bikes were in good condition, and the staff were helpful and nice. We will definitely rent bikes from here if we are in the area again.

What? Bikes and skateboard for $10 a day? You bet. Found Rays on a google search. Called ahead and they had what we needed. Set us up quickly. Threw in a basket and bike lock. Told us where to park for free for the day. (in the coaster parking lot). Unfortunately I forget the guys name. (he grew up in NJ...) He was so helpful. Had the bikes from 10:30 to 3:30. Biked up and down the boardwalk. Stopped for lunch and ice cream. Did a little loop at the bay. Just the perfect day. Noticed a bike rental place by the pier. $10 per hour. Really? Go to Rays!

We rented bikes from Ray's because they seem to be the only place that had decent hybrid bikes with gears (not the ubiquitous one-speed cruiser bikes). Got a discount on an all-day rental with the coupon on their website. With a helmet and a map, did a lovely ride around Mission Bay (14 miles).

Had a very easy time renting bikes from them. Very friendly and helmets were provided at no extra cost. THey're perfectly located between the bay and the shoreline.

We recently had the opportunity to travel from Florida to California. It was a two week road trip with a hundred stops along the way. I think one of the lasting memories for my wife will be riding bikes on the board walk at Mission Beach. It was an amazing day thanks to Ray's Rentals. The staff was polite and helpful and at $12 for a full day. how can you go wrong?

Staff was great and welcoming. We told them what our intent was in biking and they provided some really great local information to navigate efficiently.
Wife's bike was really good, mine had seen a lot of use, but still served the purpose (basic cruiser, no gears, reverse pedal brake). We cycled for 2.5 hours, about 20 miles in all, stopped for lunch in the middle, really nice afternoon. Paths are good, local drivers very patient and courteous. Clearly, could not have covered that much ground and seen that much either on foot or via vehicle.

My wife and I rented a couple of hybrids last weekend and had a ball cruising this bike friendly community. You can bike all over the place including San Diego Harbor, SeaWorld, etc. Very helpful guy with goatee and glasses rented them for $30 for two full days. Bikes were modern era Specialized bikes. My wifes didn't have a water bottle cage and Mr goatee dropped what he was doing to install it. I would definitely rent from Rays again.
