Aquatic aviation has up-to-date technology including new flyboarding technology and two way radios in your helmet so that you and you instructor can talk while you’re out on the water. Our instructor Shane was professional and fun - thank you for a fun experience! We had a great time and highly recommend for couples or friends looking for something new to try.

This is a very fun activity and something different to do! My boyfriend and I went on a Sunday morning and our instructor, Bruno, was awesome. He's was super friendly, very encouraging and helpful. The booking process was also smooth. Overall a unique and very fun morning!

This lesson was incredible!! Got the chance to take the flyboard session with a friend. Great value! It started with a short intro at the office across the street (show up 30 mins early). 10 mins of instruction and we were in the water. In less than 5 mins I was 30 feet in the air flying for the first time.

Definitely taking this again!

My two teenage sons and I did the 40-minute fly board lesson. The guys running this are really friendly and, in general, very conscientious about safety. They only thing I think they should add to their preparation training is showing people how to fall safely into the water. This is pretty obvious and easy to do when you are, for example, jumping or diving into a pool under your own power. But it can be a bit difficult when your balance is all wiggly due to the two jets under your feet and you're even just a few feet above the bay, because your head is a few more feet higher still. I got a mild concussion one time when I fell. When my head hit the water I felt that sensation you get when your brain hits the side of your skull, and I got a bit of a head ache and neck ache, even though I was wearing a helmet. Probably I needed to curl up or twist to avoid hitting head first, but they didn't mention that beforehand or suggest that I first practice falling safely to establish that habit. Fortunately my feet were only 3-4 feet above the water at that time, putting my head at about 9-10 feet high. Could have been much worse if I was too much higher than that.

Mark was a great instructor - accommodated me the next morning when I called on Thursday afternoon.

He explained everything well, and let me increase my height, and trying different things, as I got the hang of it. Felt very safe, but he let me progress at my own pace. Got to 20' high, doing different turns, on my first 30 minute lesson!

I'll definitely consider going back and doing it again next time I'm in San Diego.

I recommend everyone to try this. It was so much fun. It only took us about 10 minutes to start getting out of the water. Once out, the instructor showed me how to dive from out side of the water which was awesome. My fiance is a snowboarded and took to it so easily. It really is much easier than it looks. If you are in the San Diego area, definitely do this.

Normally, I don't go out of my way to make a review, but I had such a blast that I had to. I did the Hoverboard and it was the most fun way to start my day, a lot more fun than the Jet Pack! Paul was really welcoming and informative, and Mark (the instructor) was really friendly, helpful, and patient throughout my whole experience, couldn't have asked for a better instructor. When you get to the dock, you have the chance to store any of your belongings in their shed there and Mark briefly explains what will happen next before you actually get in the water, so you know what to expect and feel safe. With Mark's instruction, I was able to get up out of the water on my third try and soaring up to 20+ feet in no time! I even saw a sea lion right below me within the first 10 minutes of my session...apparently, they're pretty common there! If you have a background in snowboarding and/or surfing, you should pick it up just as quickly as I did, especially if you listen to the tips Mark tells you. What's also great is that any family or friends who aren't participating can watch you from the Bali Hai restaurant right in front of the area in which you ride. I posted some of the pictures that my parents were able to get of me for reference. I also purchased the GoPro footage of my experience, but, in hindsight, for someone riding the Hoverboard, I think having someone take photos/video of you from outside the Bali Hai would be best because the Hoverboard rider's back is to the GoPro camera (which is strapped onto the instructor's head) a lot of the time. I was able to circle around to get partially in front of the camera, but because I was far in front or above, I came out a lot smaller than I had expected to. That was really the only small disappointment, but, regardless, I still bought the footage (you have the option of not buying the footage if you aren't satisfied with it after the session, which is nice) because it was my first time riding and is still nice memorabilia to have. Again, Paul and Mark are so chill and great, I will definitely be returning here in the future, even if it does put a bit of a dent in my wallet haha!

Surprised my husband with this while on vacation in San Diego and I win the "best spouse award for all time!" Easy to do - fun to watch and a great way to spend some time in the sun.
