Having long been a lover of the libations of AleSmith, I knew that I had to check out the actual brewery and taproom.

It is a grand space with plenty of outdoor seating. The beers are phenomenal with the Speedway Stout being a personal favorite. In addition, the Tony Gwynn museum is an excellent touch to the San Diego legend.

Industrial park location but just beautiful inside. Very friendly and allows dogs. The outside patio was beautiful with fire accents. We tried the Mexican Lager and the raspberry sour. Both nice, the raspberry was tart and very red in color❤️ We grabbed a couple taquitos and guacamole from the food truck and had a really nice time. A beer and cheese pairing party was going on upstairs and I wish we were in on that! Will absolutely go back;-)

We did our own brewery tour and made sure to include AleSmith. We were not disappointed! Cool vibe on the inside with big rollup doors and the outside patio had plenty of shade to enjoy the weather. The food truck, Biersal, was amazing. Perfect pairing for our tasty brews.

The cook was messing up orders and had an attitude. Medium busy on a Tuesday night. No excuse for waiting 40+ minutes for food. When we inquired, told another 15. Or we can have our money back. Hope the brewery owners do something about this. Soon. We won’t be back.

I enjoyed the beers we had at this brewery. There is an extensive list. The building is huge and noisy but the ambience goes with the turf. We only stayed for one drink but I could easily have settled in for a couple. It would have been great have been able to buy a coffee and a cheese platter or nibbles platter.

Amazing!!! The entire staff was so incredibly and friendly. We went on a day when they weren't doing tours, Nick was able to make it happen. He gave us an awesome tour and was so knowledgeable about each step of the brewing process, providing such detail and even sharing with us the special Tony Gwynn exhibit - so special! And the beer was great!

Living in Santa Rosa, I am fortunate to have great breweries such as Russian River, Bear Republic, and Lagunitas all in my backyard. I am a homebrewer and love good brews, so I sought out some breweries on my recent trip to San Diego.

There were many very good breweries I visited (Rip Current, Societe, Ballast Point, etc.), but AleSmith was in another league. All of their brews were amazingly well balanced and tasty. Exceptionally well done.

Got here as they opened. The bar staff was very friendly and informative. I ordered a flight and it was tasty. The atmosphere is nice and the beer was good. Will be back when I’m in town again

I'll say it. When it comes to stouts, Ale Smith is king. Their standard stout, Speedway, is good on it's own. However, Ale Smith took it to an entirely different level when the many variations they now offer. The brewery also has other styles of beer available, and my husband enjoys those. I can't bring myself to try anything else again after the stouts.

This is such a great brewery, right across the street from the Miramar MCAS. Upon learning I'd be taking a trip to the area for the first time, I knew that I had to visit. Their beer is distributed in my area, but is not easy to find, so it was a good opportunity to check out the broader selection of what was on tap. Additionally, there are some products that aren't distributed beyond the taproom, so if you want to get a taste of their barrel-aged brews, this is the only place you can do that.

I signed up for the brewery tour (ended up getting a private tour!), which I can't say enough positive things about. My brewery "docent" was fantastic and we had great conversation. Of course, anyone can take the tour, however, being an avid home brewer made the tour even more compelling.

If you like good beer, go visit AleSmith.
