I used to live in Ocean Beach so a short drive/walk to sunset cliffs. Great place to go when its sunny and just enjoy the view. Great running spot as well! Love watching the sunset from this area and parking isn't too bad (can park by homes across the street and walk over if lot full)

This was a cool place to go, back in the 90's I lived in San Diego and I loved going there. Pretty nice place to be.

Sunset Cliffs Park is a lovely spot for a coastal walk, although we went in the daytime so missed out on the sunset action. It's quite quiet but appears to well used and loved at the same time. The waves crashing against the cliffs is an invigorating sight, and the surfers and distant ships can have you spellbound for a... More

It is a lovely place to watch the sunset. Not too many people but not desolate either. If you are concerned about parking, Uber was very reliable here. Not really any traffic, especially if you wait and fully enjoy twilight.

Ok, so I don't surf myself. But at Sunset Cliffs it can be a great spectator sport. There is a pretty consistent break there, but even when there isn't, the cliffs, ocean, homes and gardens are enjoyable. And frequently I will see a surfer looking longingly out to see either recalling waves he's caught before or imagining his next ride... More

Just came back from a beautiful morning spent on the cliffs. The views are amazing and we had no problem finding a place to park. The little surf town of Ocean Beach is similar to Venice beach in LA. We made the trip from Oceanside and we're glad we did

Assuming you can find a place to leave your car, bring a blanket, a jacket, and some snacks for a very romantic sunset picnic. This is a popular spot with many access points along Sunset Cliffs Blvd.
