My friend and I, both from SF and regular divers in Monterey had an opportunity to go diving with the folks at Waterhorse on board their boat The Humboldt. We found them to be a well run operation with a boat that was spacious and excellent service. We dove three dives. Yukon, the weather station and a reef. They clearly... More

Not for the beginner. They treat you well but it's all up to you to make sure you have a good to great dive. Don't expect them to set you up with a dive buddy. If you are the shy type don't go. I on the other hand really enjoyed the adventure.

No complaints at all. Good friendly crew, good boat, and some food provided. As another reviewer said they definitely don't babysit the dives but they do look after everyone on the boat (including one poor diver who seemed motion sick after the first dive). I'd gladly dive with this group again.

Crew very helpful. Hot food on board. Comfortable boat. I had a wetsuit that was too thin for the cold water and the dive master went above and beyond to get me properly outfitted.

As a fairly experienced diver in cold and warm waters, and an advanced instructor, I'm fairly picky about my dive boats. This one ticked all the boxes. The booking process was easy and our kit was all ready to go when we arrived - and it fitted perfectly. Rental gear was good brands and in great condition as well. The... More

Very well organised dive operation. All pre-planning very clear and helpful. Great boat...one of the few in the area that can get you out to the best spots. Amazing boat crew. Ladies...mother and daughter really personally looked after a very cold, larger than average....british dive baby struggling with cold and stubborn wetsuit. Kelp dead atm which was not communicated. Dive... More

Waterhorse Charters out of San Diego, CA are topshelf when it comes to dive boats, divemasters, & overall making sure one has a great Scuba exp. I made a three tank dive on 9/25/15 to The Coronado Islands. My Divemaster, Bethy, was amazing. I will be going back for sure.

Took a one day trip with this operation and was thoroughly impressed. $154 for 3 dives and all the way out at Coronado (1.5 hour boat ride). Included all you can eat hot soup, bread, cookies, salad and drinks. Very comfortable boat - exceptionally easy entry and exit and with hot shower. Crew were very friendly. Diving was awesome -... Top-notch dive boat with a friendly crew. This is a roomy boat with ample interior space; look forward to snacks and soup between dives, and probably some of Captain Ryan's stories!
