Where You Want to Be Tours offers a variety of scavenger hunts designed for both for group fun (reunions, parties, an outing with a friend or two, etc.) and corporate team-building. Through the hunt for specific landmarks and items, members of the group discover hidden gems and locations that even we native San Diegans would not have otherwise discovered. I've done two different tours in downtown San Diego and enjoyed both. The tour leaders make everything fun and the day is well organized from start to finish. And yes, there's food along the way.

I've lived here all my life and thought I knew Balboa Park pretty well, until Marc & Darlynn's tour! They are wonderful and showed us some really beautiful areas of the park that I had never discovered. They know San Diego VERY well and made our afternoon and team-building a day to remember. Thank you so much.

I'm a San Diego native and I was amazed to find some hidden gems courtesy of Marc and Darlynne's guided walking tour through the canyons and neighborhoods of Balboa Park. Marc and Darlynne led a group of San Diego Regional Chamber members on a fun and insightful journey. It was a great opportunity to get some exercise, get to know one another and experience San Diego. This tour is great for anyone from business retreats, families, couples, or friends. I recommend late afternoon just before the sun sets.

Company sponsored team building event on Coronado Island was the most fun! Everyone had a blast and our hosts were positive, fun, easy, and simply a pleasure to work with. We had a snafu on the date and the owners were incredibly accommodating to make it happen. I would highly recommend the scavenger hunt to anyone looking to learn a little history about the great city of San Diego and have A LOT of fun. We customized a few of the tasks which really personalized the experience and made the hunt relevant to our company. Thank you to Darlynne and Marc for their enthusiasm, planning, and good nature. A wonderful time had by all.

We did their downtown scavenger hunt here in Beautiful San Diego CA. We learned so much about the history and found hidden gems that I will not be sharing on this post :-)

Marc and Darlynne were our tour guides and had us having so much fun, striking poses, congo lines, singing street performers, dogs....we never the mysterious gnome that sits atop some bar shelf for 100 pts, but that's fine I'm not obsessing, but others were LOL. A side note grab sunscreen, good comfortable walking show and some water and recommend you eat before starting out, it about a solid 2.5 hours of fun.

I highly recommend them and they even mentioned experimenting with an Iron Chef style corporate cooking contest for groups, huh sounds like they are innovators as well as locals. I have not seen many companies with this many great reviews, but they are well deserved. This dynamic duo is setting the trend for fun group tours and events. My wife and I have done a handful of their tours and every time we have a blast!

Keep up the great work!

We are a college volunteer group that travels to San Diego yearly for a spring break volunteer trip, and we could not be more pleased with the experience we had with Darlynne and Marc. We found out about their business with very little time left before the start of our trip, but they were great about making it work given such a short timeline. Since we were staying in the Gaslamp Quarter, we wanted to give our participants an introduction to the area for our first day there. Darlynne and Marc are a quirky, fun duo and will guide you well through the experience. They are also very positive and gracious hosts.

In addition to that, they worked hard to make the experience affordable for our students, since we are a non-profit. If it weren't for this flexibility we would not have been able to afford it.

Finally, they were very organized, and seemed unfazed by our group of 14 students. 7 went with Marc and 7 went with Darlynne to explore the Gaslamp area (this Downtown Scavenger Hunt is their most popular and most demanded) and compete to see which team could complete the most clues, and everyone had a blast. It was a great way to get our group acquainted with the downtown San Diego area, as most of the participants had never been to the city before.

As for the scavenger hunt itself, I felt it incorporated a balanced mix of historical information and group bonding tasks. It's meant to be accessible to everyone regardless of fitness levels or athletic ability, so don't let that be a factor in your decision. Bottom line: If you are willing to look a little silly and have a little fun, then this scavenger hunt will be a fun experience, and you are in good hands with Where You Want to Be Tours. We hope to work with them again in the future!

I was hesitant to go on a scavenger hunt alone but made some new friends and
had a great time. The hunt was supervised by two very energetic upbeat leaders
who added to the fun. The tasks were diverse. The public was aways happy to be in a picture or comtribute a bit of trivia we needed. A great family outing for all ages.
Go!!

We had the best time on our urban challenge downtown San Diego. It was both fun and challenging. We thought we knew so much about San Diego but this was on a whole new level. The owners took the time to create something unique and memorable for our group. I’d highly recommend them to you if you want funfilled and action packed team building. It’s truly a rewarding experience for everyone.

Our company (Samsung) did a scavenger hunt in San Diego with " Where You Want to Be Tours" for our corporate team building event end of last year and it was a blast. Everyone had a ton of fun as the teams raced around the city trying to be the first to find all of the clues and to get the most points. We got to also explore the city and learn interesting facts that many of us did not know. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a corporate event, fun, different, and affordable.
