From late December through mid-April, about 26,000 gray whales make the journey from the cold and volatile waters of the Arctic Sea to Baja California. From June until November, the mighty blue whales make their way into their feeding grounds, off the coast of southern California. Take a boat out of Mission bay to the Coronado Islands just across the Mexican border and enjoy your cruise viewing whales, dolphins, elephant seals and more. The tour boat serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. It can get very cold on the water, so bring a jacket.

If you are taking this tour, please take your motion sickness meds before. Almost half of the boat - over 30 people were throwing up. It's a 3 hour tour and if you are sick there is no coming back. The staff are super helpful walking around with bags and finger ale and changing trash cans out. Even those who... More

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, this particular trip is not an event we can forsee, however, we do our best to make sure everyone is aware of the risk of getting seasick. For anyone unsure of how their stomach will react, we HIGHLY recommend taking dramamine to prevent such an event. On other hand, we are glad you were... More

This company does longer trips than most whale watching companies. They often do up to 8 hour trips that go out to the Coronado Islands in Mexico. The Eclipse is very comfortable. It's used mostly for overnight fishing trips, but is often used for whale watching, as well. It's very clean and has a full galley. I've been on this... More

When I saw the 2 day trip offered by Pacific Nature tours on Facebook I IMMEDIATELY jumped at the opportunity. Even though the seas were choppy and it was raining it was still a great trip. Captain Mark did a fine job of not only finding humpbacks, grays and minke's but also Brown and BLUE FOOTED BOOBIES!!!! What a treat.... More

My husband and I went out on the 4 1/2 hour tour today. WOW IS all I could say. We had been wanting to go out blue whale watching "hoping" to see a whale we saw whale after whale one of them fluking for us. The crew was great on giving information about the blue whales and other animal and... More

Overall we had a fun day. We only saw dolphins, no whales but it was still a fun day. The crew was awesome, especially Cap. Adam- he and his crew made the trip so much fun ! Thanks again for a great experience !

We did see some dolphins, but whales that were 'close' were not close at all. There were way too many people on the boat. It's just a cattle-car with people struggling to see a whale 1/4 mile away. Lot's of dolphns were there, but overall, the boat was not a great boat to spend time on. It's designed for fishing,... More

We took a 3.5 hour whale watching tour. The crew seemed knowledgable and experienced. The boat was clean. The crew found us dophins for viewing in a short amount of time. The reason why I rated this as a '3' was because the narrative was dry and boring. They served a complimentary clam chowder which was okay. Beer was sold... More

Took the 8 hour tour on 9/28. The staff were kind and knowledgeable and the food was great. More importantly, we saw soooo much wildlife..whales and more whales, dolphins, sea lions, many different birds. This tour was the highlight of our trip to San Diego. Thank you for a wonderful time!

I was on the 4.5 hour tour special that went out on 9/25. The official count on Blue Whales was 10 seen up close and we did see others in the distance. We saw nearly 1000 Common Dolphins, Sea Lions, Cormorants, Egrets, Blue Heron, Pelicans and a Mola Mola Fish. This was a personal best trip for me and the... More
