Despite the weekend traffic getting there it's has something for everyone. Just a great place to park for the day and watch the city lights at night. Plenty of free parking and easy access to all points of interest.

Definitely a place to visit and walk along the ocean. You can watch Naval ships and some aviation as Naval Air Station is just across from it. Good place to view the ships coming and going.

Went for a morning walk to shelter Island. Not much to see, just a walk way along the seafront. Not worth a special journey!!

Love taking the family and friends from out of town along the Islands. Can get out and walk around a bit if the wind isn't kickin'. Some great little spots to eat as well.

Shelter Island is a hidden gem. Just a little over one mile long, it has a wonderful park that runs along the entire length. The park has beautiful sculptures and at the end of the island is the Friendship Bell from Yokohama, Japan which is San Diego's sister city.

This is a great area for Locals and Wanna Be locals. Plenty to do from taking a run to dancing. Great Dinner sights and places to look out at the water or walk with your Special Someone.

I personally like Humphrey's by the Bay. The hotel has two places to watch stars sing. The shelter island options are great so please try Tom Ham's too. It's rated the best brunch on the island.

As a fishermen, I've been trying to check out each of the piers in SD to do some fishing. Shelter Island Pier is one of the nicer ones around the SD area. The Shelter Island strip has resorts, hotels, and marinas built along the one side, with a nice walkway on the other side. In the early morning while fishing... More

We have stayed here many times over the years and with time come changes. But here they are all outstanding changes.. Large ,clean and well decorated rooms. Outstanding staff in every aspect of the hotel.. The food is good but miss the free breakfast. One of the changes. It is quiet, peaceful with great views throughout. It is small and... More
