So the views of Coronado and Point Loma are awesome from here. But between 5:30 a.m. and around 8 a.m., the bridge is a parking lot because many people work on/off the island. Recommend going here mid-afternoon on the weekend or after 7 p.m.

The Coronado Bay Bridge is a delight to transverse. A trip across the bridge offers an excellent view of downtown San Diego and the city of Coronado. Travel is in both directions and will be busy during work hours. There is no toll fee. No stopping is allowed while on the bridge. Best to have someone with you to take pictures as the memories will be priceless!

It’s just a bridge. But it looks really cool the way it bends and winds it’s way from San Diego to Coronado. The best views of the bridge are from under it, which we discovered when we took a sunset cruise. Some of the pictures at sunset were stunning. It’s also kind of fun to drive on and there are good views of the area from up on top.

Travelling over this elevated bridge to Coronado Island is a breathtaking experience, with views to die for. Unfortunately there is no footpath, so you cannot walk up to take photos, but if your passenger can shoot a few frames while reaching the apex then it is very worthwhile. It is quite a beguiling structure, being curved in three dimensions and lends a special iconic item to the San Diego skyline

A beautiful bridge over San Diego Bay. Great to drive over or boat under for terrific views. Back in the day people used the ferry to access Coronado or drove around to the silver strand. It was originally a toll bridge utilizing the fees to pay for the adware winng structure. That strategy actually worked. It paid for itself and the toll was removed. Hard to believe but true.

The mid section of this crazy-long bridge actually floats in the event of a military attack!
I had to close my eyes during our first few crossings from San Diego downtown to Coronado Island. Serious vertigo will mess with your equilibrium. Enjoy the view once calm!

I wouldnt call it a beautiful bridge. It is an incredible structure and a quick and free way of getting onto the island, no tolls these days. The views either side even as a passenger are restricted due to the high walls. Best view is from the water if you take a trip

I can't believe they have a listing for a bridge, but it was really cool, and we did take forever driving around (not using gps) trying to find where it started (find National or Coronado, or use gps, lol). We had a wonderful time on Coronado, the state beach and Imperial pier, walking around town and eating at City Tacos. This was a highlight of our time here, so I'm glad we found the bridge! Of course, you don't HAVE to take the bridge to get to Coronado, but it's definitely a thrill to drive it.

The main route into Coronado. Built high so that aircraft carriers can go under. Great views of San Diego. Probably gets congested during rush hour but if you go during off hours, no problems.

You have to go over the bridge to drive to the island. You can go on the ferry without your car which was easy, cheap and fun. I guess I'm supposed to report that it was the tallest bridge or the nicest bridge or something but why? It's a bridge. It's not like it's the Linn Viaduct or something. It's a bridge. An engineering marvel? Not for me. Our country is full of awesome designers and engineers. It's a bridge.

probably by taxi ... I am sure that bus goes that direction, but could be a long ride especially if you have baggage
