Long high sweeping bridge linking Downtown SD to Coronado Island. High enough to allow the nuclear-powered aircraft carriers of the US Pacific fleet to pass beneath. If driving to Coronado (don't unles you have to) it is necessary otherwise as a pedestrian take the regular ferry services from the SD waterfront across to Coronado. Much more civilised and Coronado easy... More

We crossed the Coronado bridge several times on the Old Town Trolley. The views were amazing!!!! One one of the trips, we actually saw Navy Seals in the bay on maneuvers. Coronado itself was beautiful . . .a quaint, seaside town with everything to offer; shops, restaurants, beaches, lots of history and, of course, the stunning Hotel Coronado. The hotel... More

Beautiful to look out of the bus going over it. Tour guides are full of a lot of history to tell you about.

A beautiful bridge that connects the island of Coronado to the city of San Diego..it's easy to get on and off, and very visible in San Diego. Prior to be the bridge being built the island of Coronado had to be traveled to by boat.

Drive across during the day and drive back for a view with the lights. We took some out of town visitors and they went back 3 times on their own. Be sure to check sunset time. Coronado offers a slower hometown pace. We go there not so much to "do" but to "be."

Took a side trip to Coronado to view this island. The trip over was harrowing! During heavy traffic, this bridge is very intimidating, just want to get off, but worth it to get to Coronado and back. If you have the time, take a ride!

After decades of ferry only crossing, this bridge was constructed in a manner that enhances and does not detract from Coronado Island. It leads you from San Diego to this magical island surrounding the military base there. And to the Hotel Del Coronado. What bridge could do more?? It makes you feel like you are flying over water and earth.

We actually had the view of this bridge from a parallel road at first but later found that we can get the bay view.

Great views from this bridge as you come and go to Coronado island. The island in one direction and downtown San Diego in the other.

The blue bridge can be seen from far away connecting Coronado to San Diego. It's quite a sensation crossing it in a bus as it feels you are really high in the air.
