Great Place to Take Children
Mar 2020
The Fleet Science Center is a great place to take children. It is interactive and educational. The IMAX theater is very nice and we enjoyed the movie we saw that was part of the admission price.

A great visit, open later than everything else
Mar 2020
We were seeking something to do with rain on the horizon and everything in San Diego closes at 4:30 or 5pm! It makes having a full day difficult. But the science center was open until 6pm and had a Sea Turtle IMax movie showing at 6pm. So off we went. We spent about 2 hours in the science center (for 22M, 19M, 52M) we had fun and did the VR motion ride for a few dollars each. It was worth it! With smaller children you could spend more time and a lot of the museum is interactive. We still had fun! Then at 6pm we watched the IMax movie, there was like 15 of us in total and then left. We had dodged the rain and had a great experience in the meantime!

Lacking innovation
Feb 2020
Whilst our 4 and 2 year olds both enjoyed their visit I felt as it it was somewhat lacking in innovative displays and a lot of the building areas and play areas have many elements that can be done in the home. That said we did spend an enjoyable few hours here - I'm just not sure it was worth the entrance fee.

Small and Oriented Toward Kids; Nice IMAX movie
Feb 2020
This was a bit of a disappointment. The exhibits, while interesting, were generally oriented toward kids. They are very interactive. Unfortunately, it was swarming with kids on field trips so we adults had very little time with the interactive exhibits. There is an IMAX theatre (only one of the three films is included with the admission fee.) We saw Cuba, which was lushly produced and very interesting. The time-lapse photography of coral was worth the price of the admission.

Visit to Fleet center
Jan 2020
This is an excellent place in Balboa park with a great Dome IMAX theatre where they show IMAX films on topics including nature, science, and culture. Saw one on Turtles and Super dogs. It is best to become a member and get discount tickets and visit to the museum. If you have children that is the best way to enjoy the museum. The exhibits are always changing and we end up going there every 3 to 4 months. Parking can be an issue. Go early and there are other attractions in enjoy in Balboa park.

A Much Better Experience
Oct 2019
I visited here several years ago and was disappointed. This time around was much more different. They have obviously renovated and remodelled the center and added new exhibits. There was lots to see and do, including many hands-on exhibits that are fun even for adults. The price is about $22/adult but worth it. The admission also includes one IMAX film with no time commitment and three films to chose from.

Absolutely hit!
Aug 2019 • Family
We went there on a whim today with our 2year old and he absolutely loved it! The museum had plenty of attractions and was very inviting. His favorite was the ball swimming pool.

Great place for children
Aug 2019
We spent over four hours here with our grandchildren (ages 9 and 12) and they enjoyed many hands-on activities. They have nice movies with beautiful photography although the narration is based on evolutionary ideas which are unproven and I disagree with.

Hands-On Science for All Ages
Aug 2019
Three generations had a great time with hands-on science experiments. (Great place to get science fair ideas.) Go early to avoid the crowds at the end of summer with day care, camps and other groups show up. Plan to take in one of the IMAX videos.

Wonderful and hands on
Jul 2019 • Family
Full of hands on activities for all. "No adulting" signs are up to remind everyone to enjoy. An imax ticket is included in the admission price. We could have spent all day here.
