Somewhat small, not super for little kids, good IMAX

It was a little smaller than I expected, but the 4 year old had fun. Not old enough yet for most things. Was hoping there would be a full-time planetarium show, but not. Bought the Go SD pass, so it was included for free - yea!

Went here for a Stars in the Park presentation at the Fleet Center which had an interesting lecture/show of the constellations, planets and galaxies in the night sky on the evening I went. It was shown on their massive I-max domed screen. Seats were a little cramped. Lecture itself on the zodiac signs was interesting, pictures were quite vivid. Afterwards... More

Great imagination using Lego bricks Nathan Sawaya used his artistic talents to create art with the use of the logo brick. The detail in some of the sculptures is great. Nice and easy to navigated

Don't waste your almost $20 per person to visit this museum. We visited with our two children while on vacation and were looking for a fun indoor activity for our kids. While this place has the potential to be great it is lacking. You walk into a large room with scattered science displays. They all seem haphazardly placed and although... More

After seeing the California Science Center in Los Angeles, the Sd's science center is average at best. Its very small with very few exhibits. There are some things for the kids to do.

There were some interesting science exhibits but we were in and out of here within 30 minutes. The kids found this place very entertaining and could have spent more time. There was an area that was built for the little kids (under 5). It would have cost us $75 to enter here, but we used or Go San Diego card.... More

We heard praises of this Balboa Park museum, but testing it with our grandsons proved its worth.Starting with the IMAX, Under the Sea, the experience was amazng as the entire wall and ceiling becomes your screen( thanks Canadians for this invention) for an hour and you see the Coral Triangle and the Great Barrier Reef, getting up close and personal with... While visiting Balboa Park we went to the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center. There were many changes in the science center, some for the better, but some of the better exhibits were no longer there. We also went to the IMAX movie and watched the movie about the International Space Station which was an incredible movie. The most disappointing experience... More

Nearly all exhibits set up for kids and adolescents. About a third of the exhibits were broken. IMAX show is included but the show varies depending on the time of day. So if you have a special interest it pays to check ahead on the viewing schedule.

The kids loved it! We became a member that day. We were looking around for science centers to take our Cub Scout to finish a few requirements. Luckily, they had a science venue setup for the kids. We got to watch the IMAX film "A Beautiful Earth" and it was absolutely great!
