The Old Globe Theatre, an internationally known theatre company, in San Diego's Balboa Park continues to inspire, mesmerize, educate, and delight all who pass through its doors. "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" is a truly magical, heartwarming experience. November 3 - December 29, 2018

The Old Globe never disappoints, even when they let you down just a little. How so? Well, we have seen a lot of their productions. Sometimes, the direction is a bit odd. Sometimes, the script is a bit blah. Sometimes, an actor or two have...More

My wife and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary recently, and part of the evening included Barefoot in the Park at the Old Globe. As usual it was an excellent production, with great acting and set design.

Great compact theater in Balboa Park. Managed to get tickets on the day for The Heart of Rock & Roll, featuring music inspired by Huey Lewis & the News, which was excellent. There are food and drinks on sale at the patio outside the theater...More

Saw the debut of an original musical comedy featuring the music of Huey Lewis. Acting, singing, and choreography were amazing. Old Globe Theatre was cozy and charming.

I want to take the train to San Diego and see a performance at the Old Globe Theatre. I believe it is in Balboa Park. What is the easiest way to get from the train station to the theatre?

The easiest is a taxi straight there. Approx $10 And, yes, it's just inside the entrance of Balboa Park off of Sixth Avenue.

How early do you need to buy your tickets for a performance at The Old Globe Theatre in Balboa Park? I went to purchase some for three weeks away and it says there aren't any available. I'm not sure if that is because it is sold out or if they don't go on sale until the week of the performance. Thank you!
