West is the Best! Our family booked this one-day tour of the Baja California area of Mexico out of San Diego on New Year's Day. We loved every minute of it. West is friendly, talented, very accommodating and ensured that we had a great time. He runs each tour personally and his love of Mexico, its people and culture shine through. The food is amazing and plentiful (and each place vetted personally by West so you don't have to worry about getting sick). It's a super-interesting day of exploring the culture and cuisine in small villages, riding ATV's on the beach, and taking in breathtaking vistas over the Pacific Ocean. I recommend this trip 100%+++! Thank you, West, for such a wonderful addition to our holiday vacay!

Had the best time on this tour with my NZ sister, and West was incredible as the tour owner/guide. The day was packed with food, sites, tastes and everything non commercial that u could imagine in Mexico. West has an amazing relationship with the Mexican people and their culture, and it was evident on this tour. It is value for money, the stories and information that we were told will stay with me for a long time. My birthday was on this tour, and West went out of his way to get a band to sing for me and a gift was givenetc. we were dropped back at our accommodation even tho it was a later return home than expected, that is the honest nature of west.
It’s a tour that does not disappoint, and I would recommend it highly..thanks West

West is a fantastic Tour Guide! We really didn't know what to expect when we took his tour, but he made everything feel like it was spontaneous, like a true 8 hour adventure getaway. Which really aded to the spice and flavor of taking his tour to Baja. There was just so much to take in! All the beauty and contrasts of Mexico. Absolutely amazing! Looking back on it, his free style and easy way about himself is what really made his tour so memorable and fun. So memorable, in fact, that we're planning taking his wine tour next time. Also, he made everyone feel incredibly comfortable, relaxed, included, and VERY well fed (Don't eat before you go, seriously!). Which was no small feat, considering there were a bunch of us that day. But, I'm not gonna give away the tour, you'll just have to experience it for yourself. We had a blast and we're looking forward to doing your tour again! Thanks for the great memories, West!

We had the best tour experience with West. We planned a trip to Southern California and wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to visit Mexico for the day. After reading tons of reviews of other guides, we settled on West and Baja Border Tours. We had read stories of people trying to navigate crossing the border alone, struggles to find their guides once in Mexico, and confusing instructions on what to bring or what to expect. You will not have any of these issues with West. West met us In San Diego and accompanied us through the border crossing. He was clear about what we needed to cross the border and handled everything for us once at the crossing. He custom curated a tour based upon our priorities that was way beyond what we expected. Going to a foreign country with children can be intimidating especially if you do not speak the language but having West with us made us feel like we really got to experience the food, culture and most importantly, interacting with the people with so much more depth than we could have in a giant group tour. He didn’t just show us the sights, he explained the culture and history of each place. I broke my foot 2 weeks before our trip and I don’t feel like we missed out on anything in Mexico because West made sure I was able to navigate every stop. He also took beautiful pictures of everything for us so we were able to enjoy the scenery without stressing over getting a perfect shot. We also wanted to purchase local goods and art while in Mexico but was unsure how to find authentic goods or how to negotiate prices. We told West what we were looking for and he helped us find authentic, quality goods and helped negotiate prices for us. But even without all this, I believe that West is your best choice because of how he interacts with people. He didn’t just treat us with kindness, but also every person we encountered during our tour. From the woman that sells merchandise on the street, the guy that parks cars in shopping area, the tamale worker, even the toll workers at every single stop from Tijuana down to Ensenada - he is greeted and loved by them all. You can tell how loved he is by the locals and it’s because he treats everyone he interacts with respect. Lastly, try all the food. Even the stuff you’d never consider trying. And at the end of the day and you’re stuffed and West insists on that last stop for tacos before he takes you back across the border - DO NOT MISS THIS. Hands down the best tacos any of us had ever had by a mile. After this we didn’t think we could eat another bite, but after getting stuck in border crossing traffic my son remembered he wanted some churros before we left. What happens then? That’s when West makes a quick phone call and fresh, hot churros are delivered to the car window while we’re waiting to cross back into the US. That’s one of the hundreds of reasons that West and Baja Border Tours is the best tour guide in Mexico!

This was by far the best tour I've ever done! Our tour guide West was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun. We went to great local spots to eat, see art, shop and explore. The food tour alone is worth the money paid, not to mention the cultural experience and sight seeing. I would highly recommend this tour!

West does a great job of keeping things moving smoothly on his tour and showing the highlights of northern Baja, while still allowing a good amount of flexibility. It is best for out of towners, but as a SD local I still had a great time with my dad. Expect to have a pleasant time seeing some great local spots, and do not expect to be getting trashed and doing something stupid in Mexico. The guide takes his job in keeping his clients safe seriously.

This was the best tour we ever had. We really got the true feeling of the Mexican people. This was not a tour of driving and going to normal touristy spots but to towns and neighborhoods interacting with the people on a personal basis. West does everything for you to get the best experience. He goes out of his way to make the experience the best he can. I cannot say enough in how West accommodated everyone's needs. The food was outstanding. The places we went to along the Baja California coast were terrific. West is a fun person to be with and he truly enjoys his work. He has a great rapport with the local people. His accommodations are excellent. The experience feels like a private tour. Safety was not a factor. We felt extremely safe. Not apprehensive at all. West communicated well with us and the locals. West was very professional, knowledgeable and had exceptional service. The cost is reasonable and worth the money for all the perks that are included in the itinerary.

Highly recommended ~ A personalized day tour by Baja Border Tours to Mexico’s Border region is the way to go…West was amazing tour operator/guide, most knowledgeable of Tijuana, Rosarito, and neighboring areas. West’s foremost priority is the safety and security of all his clients; thus, he makes sure that each has a tourist visa. Our tour consisted of five tourists, who were quickly processed and granted a 3-day visitor visa, but 1 day visa was sufficient. Per West’s explanation: a visa is a “must” for your own protection, in-case of emergency during tour duration. After processing through the border, he took us to Tijuana Market for a quick breakfast and had freshly made tamales. We browsed around the market to taste some locally grown fruits and various cheeses…yummy! Toured the U.S./Mexican border walls and beaches ~ truly educational! The freeway ride to Rosarito was quick and lovely. We saw beautiful homes and luxurious condos built along the hills and playas. We stopped for wine tasting and yummy tortillas at El Nido Restaurante. Then off to lunch at Restaurant-Bar Playa Delfin for scrumptious seafood ~ lobsters and shrimps with margaritas. After lunch, he drove us to see the Christ of the Sacred Heart Statue above the town of El Morro with breathtaking panoramic views of Rosarito. We also stopped for some Mexican souvenirs shopping. Then back to downtown Tijuana for some nightlife view and tequila tasting. And for dinner, West recommended to have light dinner for some best tacos at Tacos El Franc…delicioso! Oh yeah, as a bonus…West is also a great photographer! The traffic through the U.S. Border was a bit long, but West kept us entertained with his jokes. Thank you, West and Baja Borders Tours for the enjoyable and memorable day!

West is the best tour guide I've ever seen! He took our whole family (11 people and a dog) to Tijuana for my father's 80th birthday and it was a truly unforgettable day. We had delicious tamales in an open air market for breakfast followed by lunch at an amazing restaurant with birds nests and waterfalls and a secret wine cellar straight out of Indiana Jones in Rosarito Beach. We did a wine tasting, a tequila tasting, a fire coffee demonstration, and sampled lobster, too. He surprised my dad with a mariachi band and a trio of touring musicians that got us all up and dancing. He was flexible and took requests for anything we wanted to stop and do, giving us time to wander and explore. When my dad's dog got sick, West miraculously found a vet at 7 pm in Tijuana and saved the day, keeping calm and going above and beyond to help us get through customs quickly and make sure that everything was handled smoothly. He seems to know everyone, and as a professional cameraman, he documented everything with tons of photo and videos that he provided us afterwards. I could not recommend him more highly to anyone who wants to tour Mexico!

WOW!!!!! What an amazing tour. West you did a great job. I was very skeptical, afraid and cautious to take any trip over the border to Mexico. But I’m glad that my fear didn’t overtake my desire to learn more about the cultural of the Mexican people. West, our tour guide was very informative about the cultural and history of all the town we visited. Yes, the food and the tequilas experiences was amazing. But my favorite part of the tour was the interactions I experienced with the locals.
I look at several other tour companies before booking my trip with the owner West. Unlike some of the big famous companies in the area, offering the same one day trip to Mexico, West passion for what he does and good customer service, is what set him aside and purchase the ticket for the tour.
