Founded in 1916, the Zoo has been an icon in San Diego for nearly 100 years—and an absolute must-see in Southern California. Spend the day monkeying around in our tropical oasis as you visit beautiful habitats that are home to gorillas, eagles, tigers, sun bears, Asian leopards, rare reptiles, a palette of colorful birds, and more. Visit the Australian Outback to delight in our colony of 24 koalas, and travel along Panda Trek to experience giant pandas and other animals that share their bamboo forest habitat. Go back in time through Elephant Odyssey to discover what animals used to roam Southern California and see what the elephants are up to. Enjoy a guided tour on a double-decker bus or the scenic view from the Skyfari aerial tram, and dine in the peaceful surroundings of Albert's Restaurant. Discover the wonders of wildlife with animal encounters, interactive experiences, and keeper chats. A leader in animal care and conservation, the San Diego Zoo is at the heart of the San Diego experience.

It was a full day of lovely weather and small crowds in the San Diego Zoo. The animals seemed to know the weather was rich and perfect to be out and about. Really enjoyed our trip to the zoo.

I went to San Diego Zoo in a cloud Sunday and it was amazing. The zoo was empty, so we could spend a lot of time with all the animals without been bothered. I was afraid the all animals would be sleeping because it was...More

I have been here 3 times and love it each time. They are updating many exhibits to modernize the enclosures. The snow leopard is new since my last visit and allows the animals to travel over your head to the other side. We were fortunate...More

The zoo was insanely busy when we went. It didn't help that they were funneling us all into a little entrance that was the exit. I do hope they finish building the new gates soon. This place is not for people with serious mobility issues....More

This was by far one of the best zoos that my family has ever gone too. There were so many primates, which is my absolute favorite part of any zoo. This zoo is quite large so prepare to walk a whole lot. Also give your...More

Hi, we were just there and our tour guide said *some* of the construction will be done by August, but some won't be done until this fall. Even so, I assure you, the construction doesn't really detract from the experience... More
