Beautiful Day at Sea World- Save Buying on-line
I haven't been to sea world in quite some time. A lot has changed. There are now a number of rides. I did not go on any of them as I am not a ride person. I did go to several of the shows and enjoyed many of the exhibits. The location of Seaworld is beautiful. April is a great time to go as the crowds are thinner. Be sure to look online and purchase your ticket there for a reduced price over a purchase at the box office. You can even purchase on your smart phone before entry and then just show the barcode on the email you get back. This will give you a savings of $22 dollars.

    Did I drink the coolaid?
Maybe I just bought into what was being told to me, and I need to do some fact checking, but I found the entire experience at Seaworld excellent. Now, we were lucky and went on a weekday so it wasn't as busy which made things pleasant, and we found all the shows informative and the aquariums in good shape. Now, I have watched all the documentaries and was appalled at some of the treatment and how some animals were cared for in the past, but my understanding is that the only big Orca's and dolphins/whales coming in now are rescues......maybe I am just being naive but it would seem that they have had a huge policy shift in the past and have made some genuinely positive changes. We watched the Orca and dolphin shows, thought they were amazing, checked out all the turtles, rays, sharks, fish exhibits and enjoyed it all. Food was lackluster and overpriced but I was expecting that. We ubered here so didn't pay for parking and would recommend.

Seaworld San Diego Howl O Scream
First time the wife and I have come here to do their Halloween event called Howl O Scream. They have five mazes and some scare zones. It's pretty good smaller children would be able to go through these haunts. This is their third year and they're trying to make it a better thing.

    Beware the orcas
We visited on Halloween weekend and expected it to be packed. It was pretty busy, but not horrific. We got the special passes that let you jump the line and that really sped things up. The rides are fairly short (but fun and exciting) so the lines move along. Some observations: 1) they let you bring in stuff, people were hauling whole wagonfuls of snacks, water, etc. 2) don't sit in the Orca Splash Zone if you wouldn't enjoy having several gallons of icy salt water dumped over you (or the elderly, infants, etc.). Some people had brought food, which was ruined. I would guess the first 15 rows got wet and the first 10 got DRENCHED, the whale swims on its side along the side and heaves water onto the audience 3) if you want good pictures, don't sit in the center, it seemed like the whales mostly jumped off to the sides and never in the center It's a theme park and an animal park: informative, crowded, expensive, but fun. I found it clean and well-staffed.

    Seaworld, November trip
I certainly enjoyed my experience at SeaWorld. The staff were very friendly and the shows were really enjoyable. The food was also really good and not too expensive. Overall, I think all of your tricks that the dolphins and all animals performed. We’re very impressive and well trained. Overall, I recommend visiting pretty often as you can see new animals and new stunts. However, I do hope that the dog returned back to Seaworld as it was very enjoyable the last time and visited. Thank you.

    Just OK
If anyone is visiting San Diego, I'd say that you must go the Zoo. If you really want to go to Sea World, that's there too. We went and were a bit underwhelmed. It felt a bit like a ghost town (we were there in early November) with music blasting almost everywhere. We did enjoy the whale and dolphin shows, and there are some challenging rides, if you seek out that sort of thing. Overall, however, it did feel like the place is on the decline, or at least it didn't live up to my childhood memories of the place.

some parts great, others just ok
The orca and dolphin shows were amazing; if you go, both of these are must sees. We waited for over an hour to ride Arctic Rescure despite the initial wait time being 45 minutes. At one point, the line didn't seem to move at all so I went and asked an employee if they ride was out of service, the employe answered me by saying they were in the process of bringing a second train into service and that should help move the line. After a little longer while, we eventually made it on. An unexpected and unpleasant surpise was while the ride does not permit loose items (reasonable), you had to PAY for a locker to store them (others chose to stash their items in nearby bushes {I obviously do not reccomend this}). With the available space that I saw for this ride, I think a few shelves would've been reasonable for temporary loose item storage like I've seen in other amusement parks. If you believe in Seaworld's mission of conservation and education, then you should go and support it. If you do go, decide what you want to see/experience in advance, when you want to do it, and plan your time accordingly. The app can be of some use; however, it's not as user friendly as other apps that other locations developed.

A good experience in off-peak days.
I got the annual pass on the Black Friday Sale (it was a buy one, get one 50% off deal). I visited SeaWorld for the first time yesterday. There weren't many people there, which made it a great time to enjoy the all-day dining offer. The staff were really nice, and I loved watching the orca, dolphin, and sea lion shows. It was my first time seeing an orca! The flamingos and penguins were also a highlight. This place is wonderful. I'm afraid of thrilling roller coasters, so I was happy to see there were many interesting shows and sea animals to enjoy instead of just rides and coasters. I really recommend downloading the SeaWorld App for planning .

    Fun!
We really enjoyed our visit to Sea World San Diego. Significantly cleaner and better maintained than its Orlando counterpart even with a more limited list of attraction offerings. Food prices are high as with most Sea World parks and quality isn’t great so it’s probably a good idea to eat before or afterwards. We really enjoyed the Wild Arctic area - the Shamu show is in an uncovered stadium so be prepared to roast on a sunny day.

Not as fun as you remember
It was ok. I think our kids had a good time but it is a bit run down, also seemed a little unorganized and understaffed. Long lines for food and snacks. Also, we went in July and somehow there is no shade anywhere. Odd. Anyway the animal shows were our favorite part and it was an nice family day but probably won't return.

If you are considering going to SeaWorld I'd recommend printing your tickets and I suppose print proof of a reservation date. They are requiring reservations now during covid. I made a reservation under my annual pass. Then when we were in SA we called customer service to reschedule due to weather. Customer service is horrible in most of my experiences with them. And you may find the website to function poorly. The rep I finally got to speak to for rescheduling (on hold for 1 whole hour) was nice and made the new reservation easily. However, I directly asked if the email I received with tickets could be used for entry and she responded yes. If a rep tells you that you can use tickets on your phone for entry don't believe them. If you notice online and at the park signs indicating they've gone digital--don't believe them. Have your tickets and reservation tickets on hand. I'd also suggest if you created an online account to have all your information available on hand if you run into an issue. I was bombarded with a terrible employee needing me to login into my account and show proof of my annual pass. My family and I returned to SA specifically to go to SeaWorld and utilized tickets under my annual pass. After being tossed around to at least 4 or 5 employees and not being able to speak to a manager after requested (an over 2 hour process), we finally gave up and left. I will say toward the end of that day, with persistence to get in on my part, a rep finally printed tickets for me. She never acknowledged a mistake on their end or explained to me what the issue even was. We stood in line once again and the employee scanning tickets was unable to scan the printed tickets. My poor kids were even fed up and miserable at that point and asked to leave. I requested a refund for my annual pass and it was declined. Took a full month to even hear back from them. I was offered 3 tickets upon return to the park. I would never return. How would I believe those 3 tickets would be honored and even be accepted at the time of entry? I also submitted to BBB and Sea World still did not want to resolve the issue. Several other less than desirable things happened too but I think I've provided enough at this point to either have you reconsider going or to be extra prepared when you do go. If you've never been be ready to go through several check points (very different than Disney :) ) and one for COVID now that has you go through an area where you'll feel like cattle being herded. There's not clear direction of when you have finally entered the park. Customer service is right outside actual entry. If you want to use the photo club having your pics taken there's a customer service kiosk specifically for them right inside entry. You might get mixed messages from their photo club photographers as well. Be aware of hotel or other types of reps for time shares.

My husband and I were both conflicted about whether or not to even go to SeaWorld while we were in San Diego. We decided to go because it would be a good opportunity for our 2 year old to see sealife that he otherwise wouldn't. Boy am I glad we went! Not only did our son have a great time but so did we. It is clear that SeaWorld has heard the complaints from the public and is doing everything they can to be good stewards of the sealife in their care. The cost of admission is very high, but if you are going to be in San Diego for a few days look into the San Diego Go Card which includes SeaWorld and pays for itself very quickly. We ate lunch at the BBQ restaurant and it was surprisingly good.We weren't able to see everything on the first day we were there (due to a tired toddler, it is possible to see the whole park in one day) and ended up coming back for a few hours later in the week to see the few exhibits we missed. As soon as we started walking in my toddler yelled "DOLPHINS" and started running. It was clearly the highlight of his vacation.

Want people to beware about the Zoo days special event Sea World has for the month of September. Posted at limited capicity, in reality means that more than half the park is blocked off and everyone is shuffled into the remaining area. You have to wait in line for over an hour for each lanyard punch, when the food is cafeteria style at best. Save your money. Not worth the price or frustration

We made reservations and by reading the website I felt assured that social distancing and mask wearing would be strictly enforced. After parking and getting in line to enter the park we noticed tons of people in line ahead of us. Not everyone was wearing a mask and people were in line very close to each other. The line was longer than I've ever seen before (from one end of the parking lot to the other). At one point you were surrounded by others on each side and in front and back (as close as 1-2 foot distance) when people were required to go through a serpentine line. It was at that point when seeing the serpentine line that our family decided to leave the park. We were very disappointed and so was our 7 year old who was looking forward to trick-or-treating in the park. I could not believe there was not any social distancing enforced especially after reading all of the precautions that SeaWorld claimed to have in place.

The animal shows are nice and our son loved the Sesame Street theme but unless you don’t have an aquarium near you or absolutely need to see dolphins, you can skip Seaworld. The San Diego Zoo is much nicer and shadier. Parking is a ridiculous $30 (the zoo has free parking). It’s also not that easy to navigate the park. There are no paper maps and signage is not helpful. The food situation is also poor. Many food stands were not open due to staffing issues and we had to stand in line for almost an hour to get chicken strips at the shipwreck cafe, which was one of the only places that served something resembling real food. Honestly, this an overpriced aquarium that you can easily skip.

no social distancing protocols being followed, stay away till pandemic is over. mismanagement everywhere. This is strictly based on my experience of visiting the seaworld property after it reopened last week for halloween spooktacular event. starting with parking which was a mess at entry itself, i tried to enter the park at around 12:30, there was already a huge queue of cars waiting just the entry gate road. the entry flyer told us to park with 1 car parking spot apart but nobody adhered to that. no inside the park...I could see that too many tourists and park attendees were allowed to enter causing lot of chaos at entry points to orca encounter exhibits. I do not believe any reservation was enforced even though seaworld is saying that pre booking is needed to enter the park. Totally disappointed !

Went on the second weekend of SeaWorld’s reopening since the shut down, and had a great time!

They’re currently only open Fri-Sun and the only way to enter is by purchasing the Zoo Days ticket. It’s a food and drink event, where there’s multiple eateries and bars throughout the park. Adults are $75, kids are $65 (3 under are free) and each lanyard comes with 6 punches. Masks are required of course, there’s hand sanitizing stations everywhere, and distancing markers are in place. The staff was always wiping things down. I think it was good we visited close to the reopening as I think it was pretty slow, never had to wait in lines for food and the shows never lacked seating.

I would say we got our moneys worth even with the rides not open. The food was ok, from the options we chose the fried chicken sandwich, and bbq pizza were the best. I think you can get the most out of your 6 items if you’re a drinker. There’s craft beers, frozen margarita & piña coladas, wine, and even White Claws. My biggest gripe about the food & drinks was not having any drink options for kids besides soda, water bottles, and milk cartons. They needed some juice boxes or Capri Suns for sure.

Grateful to finally have visited a SoCal theme park even if the rides were closed. My kids had a great time. They got to feed the seals, pet sharks, and see the shows I grew up watching.

We were in San diego for 2 days only before our cruise, so our time was limited, we spend half day in the zoo and the other half in the sea world.

Entrance tickets was 188 $ for two adults, it worth every penny. Fun place for children and adults. Beside the different aquarium There were many shows to enjoy ( orca, dolphins and sea lions shows ). You can also buy tickets for encounter some animals like dolphins and beluga.

There was some rides and thrills but our time was limited and it was a very cold day to get wet.

It was wonderful day, recommended for all.

This was my first time visiting SeaWorld and I was wary due to all the bad press and poor reputation I had heard over the years, but I left impressed! I did find the park difficult to navigate with their map and there wasn't any really helpful signage around, and I couldn't ever get the map to pull up on the app.

I saw the sea lion, dolphin, and chinese acrobat shows and all were interesting and unique compared to other shows I have seen in the past. I didn't get a chance to see the Orcas, but the rest of the park was lovely.

I love roller coasters and their coasters were a lot of fun, but their line and ride management is poor - letting people cut and not managing single riders so many rides had close to half the seats empty.

Where to start. The day was a disaster. We purchased a dolphin interactive session for my granddaughter’s 10th bday. This was our first trip back to the park in 9 years. Upon arrival, we were informed an adult must accompany her in the pool. This is not made clear when purchasing the ticket online. We could not purchase another ticket because it was sold out. Fortunately, the manager made an exception and allowed her dad to purchase a ticket so that her bday wasn’t ruined. This was an additional $249 that we did not expect. The clerk at the desk told us this happens often with many children left disappointed. This is an easy fix by asking for age at the time of purchase on the website and requiring 2 tickets be purchased at that time. The experience itself was rushed. On to food. Everything is outrageously priced with long, long lines. After waiting 30 minutes to order at the Mexican food restaurant, we waited an additional 30 minutes and still no food. We found that it would be another 30 to 45 minutes for our food so we asked to cancel our order and get a refund. We could see everything happening in the kitchen where there was no supervision/direction, same with the counter staff filling the trays. The park looks shabby and the directional signage is confusing. After spending $900 on tickets alone for 4 people, we expected a higher quality experience. The staff we encountered were very pleasant but it was obvious that training was lacking. If you go, take your own food and drinks and be prepared for long lines on the few rides in operation. Or, better yet, visit the San Diego zoo then Disneyland or Knotts Berry Farm for rides.
