I had no idea the quality nor the quantity of Balboa Park. This is a multi day event. The Museum of Art is one of the best on the West Coast. The Nat (The Natural History Museum) has three great movies to see. The Science Museum is a great place for kids. The largest model railroad exhibit is amazing. I... More

Every bit as beautiful and lovely as the guide books say they are. Totally enjoyed mooching about this place.

If you want to get a sense about spanish californians mixed little touch from portuguesse architecture, you will get it at Balboa Park. Why it is well worth a visit? 1. Beautiful architecture 2. Beautiful garden 3. Rich cultural heritage 4. Free (most of it, you have to pay for some museum but it's fair price) So, if you happen... More

It is a big park so we were not sure where to go first. Head toward the center, where there is a visitor's center and cluster of museums. We got a map to check out many of the lovely gardens, and also stumbled upon a section that has international houses. That was very interesting: each little house had items and... More

This park is lovely....there is so much to see and do, and a great place if you wanted to just relax and watch the world go by. I was lucky enough to see the organ played when I was there. The little village of "International Houses" was really good too. So much to see and do here!

Beautiful place, full of cultural tours. It is worthwhile the visit. Sunday was impossible even to park, but on Monday we visited with tranquility. On Monday the attractions closed early and some of them were pricey, so go prepared.

One, if not the best, urban park in USA. You can easily spend a whole day there, better if more than one, and you should... museums from art to sports, from anthropology to photography, theaters, restaurants, marvelous gardens with the most incredible flora from around the word, arboretum, expositions, street performers, international cottages, Japanese gardens, the greatest outdoor organ and... We finished our trip to the Zoo earlier than expected and decided to spend the remainder of our afternoon touring Balboa Park and was not disappointed. From the beautiful architecture to the lovely gardens, museums and lively musicians it was a place of culture and beauty. We purchased Go Cards so we pretty much had covered admission to the majority... More

Absolutely beautiful park! Could have spent all day there if I had more time. Very peaceful and unbelievable architecture- the buildings alone are worth checking out.

First let me say that it's BIG. You can't do it all in one day. Two or three half-day visits to see different snatches of the park are an excellent idea if you can spare the time. There are several excellent museums, some free, some not, in architecturally interesting buildings, not to mention the redoubtable San Diego Zoo (quite expensive!),... More
