As a local , I've ridden this and all the other great roads we have to offer. The Moonshine run incorporates some part of the best scenic and famous areas around.
First you have the legendary Scenic hwy 7s that will take you past the old Dogpatch theme park, cross the buffalo river and get a picture of the old steel truss bridge before its torn down in the next 3 yrs, then stop off in Jasper at the famous Ozark Cafe. (NOW THIS IS MY TWIST OFF THE MOONSHINE...INSTEAD OF TAKING HWY74 CONTINUE ON 7S FOR 9 MILES) Leaving Jasper you'll stop at the Arkansas Grand canyon overlook and just 1 miles past there you will take a left onto Hwy374 to Vendor this will connect you to Hwy 74 to Mt.Judea(pronounced Judy) Here you will connect to Hwy 123, "THE Arkansas Dragon" exercise caution here with 180 degree switchbacks , 10mph corners and wildlife(deer) Stop at an unmarked paved pull off to view "Sams Throne". After connecting back to hwy7n you'll go to Hwy 16, "The Arkansas Toothpick" one of the most underrated roads in the state. it literally cuts across the backbone of the mountian ridges with awesome sweepers and beautiful scenery. It have jcts. that connect you to all the other great rides along it path. Getting off 16 and onto Hwy 21 at Edwards Jct (not marked as such) you'll head down to the Beautiful and famous Boxley Valley on the Buffalo river. Lost Valley trail is an easy well maintained hike if you want a side trip, and keep an eye out for Elk grazing in the fields along the river. You can stop at Ponca by the old and new bridges , this is the headwaters for most float trips and also stop in at the Ponca store for refreshments and info on the area( Gas too if you need it ) Now for the last leg, hwy 43.... I call it the home stretch because I live just off 43, climbing up out of Ponca you'll get back up on the mountain ridge and be greeted with scenery and awesome sweepers for the next 20 miles before returning to Harrison..
Enjoy and be safe my friends!!

This is a great tour through the hills of the Ozark Mountains. It is all mapped out and includes a curve count.

This is a beautiful drive in the fall. It's also quite pretty in the summer. Once you get to Lead Hill if you turn to go towards Diamond city you'll run into Bull Shoals Lake. Which is really beautiful. The water is very clear.

Great road for a motorcycle or sports car. Lots of twist and turns up and down the Ozark Mountains. Stop by Booger Hollar (Population 6 including 1 Coon Dog) I think the gift shop is no longer open because it caught on fire but still a good place to pull over and stretch your legs. Jasper is also a good place to stop - kinda of a mix of old traditional ways with an influx of new wave, If you are on a Motorcycle and need a place to stay - check out the Hub a Motorcycle resort of sorts about 30 miles North of Jasper. Or come on into Harrison for more city conveniences. Then there is Branson 30 miles North of Harrison for the best in Country Entertainment.
