Lots of water activities. Canoeing and Kayaking. We are at the age we cannot do these any longer, but we do love to drive to Steel Creek and Ponca to see the beautiful Elk Herd.

The Buffalo River was very low, but we stopped at the welcome center. Good educational displays of local wildlife and recent floods.

As jeepers, hikers, kayakers we spend ALOT of time in the area, from the upper, middle and lower river, highly recommend hiking the BRT, canoe/kayak the upper river when the water is right.

This is a great opportunity for fun, especially for a young family. The river offers activities to keep everyone active. There are hikes at almost camp area. There is a trail that spans the entire National Park.

Three generations of our family rented a couple of canoes from dirstcanoerental.com yesterday and went down the Buffalo River. Water levels were a little low, so we had to push just a bit, now and then, but the weather and scenery were gorgeous. The river...More

You can do it yourself or through canoe rental. Most rental prefer reservations because it is hard to predict otherwise.
