I know the price is cheap but SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!This is sooooo empty.I would rather say it is just a park. There is just a few animals in it.It's doesn't worth of money.

New McFarland gardens are peaceful and beautiful

I've been a member for years, and the Zoo continually improves and upgrades. Next up are new giraffe grounds.

Great zoo

This zoo is world-class. The operations staff has recently added a new pavilion and upgraded animal paddocks. The zoo is worth spending a couple of hours at least walking through the park.

Great small zoo, especially with reciprocal zoo membership
Dec 2020
*Disclaimer that it was pretty cold the day we went. We also were able to use our Nashville Zoo membership for a reciprocal agreement (discounted pricing).

This is somewhat of a hard comparison to larger zoo's in bigger cities, but I thought that from an overall value perspective, this zoo was a really good experience. The animals that were out were fairly close and easy to see. Even the animals that were inside (guessing because of weather), were easy to see and watch. Sure this zoo is relatively small, but for a family with younger kids it's an easy walk with exhibits and animals that are up close and personal.

Topeka Zoo Review by Bruce The Zoo Guy

This is a medium sized zoo in the hardest Topeka Kansas. The very flat Zoo meaning no Hills and stuff to climb. Did they do have all the major animals lions tigers elephants and giraffes. The giraffe's the first thing you see when you walk in. It does look like they are working on expanding the zoo with some new construction going on. Parking is free in the parking lot is kind of small and a lot of people park on the streets outside. There are some nice exhibits though they're not the largest but are done well. They do cover all the basics at the zoo with animals but nothing really sets it apart as extremely special. I do recommend going though. They did have a little area that look like an African village with these big tents and then you walk in the tents and then there's glass to view animal exhibits it was kind of unique.

Was a little cold but we went. It is small. A few of the animals were not out, but we walked around again and they were out. Animals look well cared for. Have been to better zoo's. So I just give it an ok.

Disappointed
Sep 2019 • Family
We took our 3 young grandkids there this morning and were so disappointed. Most of the exhibits were empty or maybe had 1 animal in it. The temperature was great so that had nothing to do with it. The kids would have enjoyed the free park much more. Save your money!

Fun at the zoo

Great place to come for a day with the animals. Lions, tigers , and bears.......and much more. Well laid out with exhibits fairly close together. May not be as elaborate and/or large like other zoos, but the Topeka Zoo is well worth the visit.

Small Zoo

Decided to go to the zoo today. Turned out to be s nice day to go. Very disappointed that virtually none of the animals could be seen. Lots of overgrown pens. Personally I was disappointed
