My husband & I visited today. We are not car buffs, but this museum & collection of cars is quite impressive! At each car, there is a box much like from an old drive in movie that you could press a button & hear information...More
We stopped by the Automobile Museum while in Tupelo, mainly for my husband, who is an antique car enthusiast. My adult daughter and I weren't expecting much, but ended up staying all afternoon and enjoying every minute of it.
Although we were impressed with the...More
This is a hidden gem in the Tupelo area. I was amazed to see all of the different makes and models of automobiles. Being a NASCAR fan I was thrilled to see the iconic race car King Richard Petty won his 200th and final race...More
This is a significant collection which boasts some unique and rare cars. The volunteers who were our hosts for this special visit were simply delightful and it was a pleasure to meet this group of people who share an interest and are so obviously proud...More
An amazing collection of very old cars. Each has a recording telling some history and features mechanics of each vehicle. The ladies running the museum and shop are wonderful and friendly. You can combine this stop with others in Tupelo and the area for a...More

My husband and I will be visiting Cleveland on a Friday in June 2018. We are thinking of taking in two or more museums: Art, Natural History and and maybe the Botanical Gardens and/or Crawford Automobile Museum. Is it possible to park once at the Art Museum or East Orchestra garage and walk to each venue? Or is it better to try and find metered parking near each location. Are metered spots free after a certain hour? Is there anywhere to eat nearby? Any tips for a museum Friday in Cleveland?...More

Going to Yosemite next week. Need help quickly. (25 Replies)
I need help and fast! We decided two days ago to make a quick trip to Yosemite next week. My husband has a business meeting in Reno on Thursday. I and my two youngest girls will tag along and then we will leave Reno on Thursday afternoon for Yosemite. I have already made sure that the Tioga Pass entrance is open unless there is a big storm between now and then. What I need to know is if what I have planned is doable and if anyone thinks I could possibly fit more into my itinerary. I don’t...More

Mariposa Grove adds a couple hours to your drive as does Glacier Point. If it were my trip, I would spend that day in Tuolumne Meadows area. Its drop dead gorgeous and you're going that way already
LA in 1,5 day with children? (13 Replies)
Hi all, we're travelling with 2 kids 6 and 8. We'll have about half of the Friday and the whole Saturday in LA. Leaving Sunday morning or early pm. Never been to LA. We'll have a rental car. Would it be better to use car or one of the bus tour services to see around? Staying in one of the hotels near the airport. Is below schedule doable / any good in your opinion? Friday PM: drive to Santa Monica / Venice beach, walk around a bit and have something to eat. Drive back to the hotel...More

Staying near LAX is a poor choice due to traffic issues. And depending on which hotel you've chosen, might be an even worse choice. Traffic is not too bad on Saturday so that's good. And you should plan something for Sunday morning since you have some time, traffic is really light then. In which direction are you heading on Sunday afternoon?
