So you are supposed to have 3 options when you visit. Unfortunately we pulled up around 2:50 and they had booked a group for the church so I can’t speak to that. We really enjoyed visiting Elvis childhood home. The docent was very friendly and shared knowledge about each room we went into. However it was still about 5 minutes to do. The museum was good. It has 2 short videos to watch which tell about Elvis childhood and some memorabilia to look at. Overall it felt very overpriced for what is offered. Honestly a $10-15 price point seems more appropriate for what is offered. Not only that but the workers at the front desk were not very kind when questions were asked. If you love Elvis or want to learn more about him might be worth a stop. Otherwise I would pass due to the price.

We visited the birthplace of Elvis, not because we’re die-hard fans, but just to get a better picture of who he was. The birthplace did an excellent job of showing Elvis’s life before he knew how to play the guitar. The ticket-buying process was as confusing as a riddle wrapped in a mystery. The clerk seemed preoccupied and flustered with 2 couples arriving at the same time. Even now, I'm not quite sure what we paid for. Information on the gospel service and navigation around the place was as clear as mud. The entry fee seemed a bit high, but maybe if I had taken advantage of everything the site offered, I’d feel differently. There’s a 26-minute movie featuring actors from Tupelo. It must mean a lot to the people in the town, but it felt like a Hallmark drama. We lucked out and didn’t have to wait half an hour for it to start - again info on when the movie began was incorrect (if you located the sign). The shotgun house has two rooms. A docent, who didn’t say a word until we asked her a question, was sitting in one room. Then, she opened up and gave us more information about the two rooms pointing out the original furniture. The grounds are shaped like a guitar—who knew? Certainly not us, as nobody pointed this out during our visit. The museum is small but offers a great introduction to Elvis’s life and the times in the area. The gift shop was hyped up, but I didn’t find anything particularly interesting. I would encourage a visit but ask questions when buying the tickets. It’s something to see whether or not you’re a fan because it gives you an idea of what times were like in a small town.

This is where it all started for Elvis. You can pay for 1, 2 or all 3 attractions. I will say that the price is a little high for all 3 because there's not much to see in the homestead. It's basically a room 2 house, in which you get a little bit of history from a docent. They do a multimedia presentation in the church. It's basically what a church service would have been like back when Elvis went there. The lady who greeted everyone was nice, but I feel she gave too much commentary before the presentation started. She mentioned that you can take a driving tour through Tupelo and then proceeded to tell us what's on the driving tour. They don't do the presentations often because there were a lot of people in there. One of the only complaints I have is that while the guide was talking they were mowing outside so it was hard to hear. I will say the grounds are kept up very nice. However, I feel they need to time things better if they know there's a presentation in the church at 11, don't mow outside and around the church at that time. I wasn't overly impressed with the presentation. Other people in my party liked it. Like I said it's what a typical service would have looked like back when Elvis was there. I figured it would give a little more history of Elvis growing up in the church, the influence it had on his career etc. After the church presentation we did the small museum they have in the visitor center. It has lots of memorabilia and was very well done. We did see another building that looked like a chapel/church. I'm not sure if that's for special events or not. Like I said the grounds are beautiful. We walked up to the statues at the top of the hill and looked around up there. If you are wanting to see where the career of one of the most famous singers in the world started, then check this place out. It's about an hour and 40 min drive from Memphis, but it's worth it.

A must see. On the location you can visit little birth house of Elvis Presley, church where he used to go with his family and sing, chapel, museum, his statue at the age of 12, etc. In the church you are welcomed by a very professional and extremely friendly lady who provides you with information about the place, Tupelo and Presley’s must see places and shows an interesting video about Elvis Presley and how he started singing. A must visit!

I am so very glad we decided to add this to our trip! The senior price of $20.00 per person for all three places (the church, the museum, & birthplace) was very reasonable. The staff is friendly from the moment you walk in the door. We really enjoyed the typical 1940s church service in Elvis's church. There were couples from England, Italy, & France present on that day so there was a language barrier. However, when the gospel music started the barriers were broken down. Music truly is the great equalizer. Everyone was really friendly and we all had such a wonderful time. This experience is quite different from the Graceland tours. It is more about the little boy from Tupelo and how much he was rooted in gospel music which was the basis for his becoming a megastar. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful. It is well worth a visit!

This stop on our MS tour was well worth waiting for. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with Elvis' birth house, a museum, a gift shop, a chapel, a church and lots of walking around area. The reflection pond is gorgeous with fountains and places to sit and relax. If you're an Elvis fan then this will be a good stop. We decided not to continue to Graceland on this trip, but some people seem to think this is really more about his life than there. Worth the price and time.

This was a nice site to see if in the area, but there's not that much to it. The grounds are like a big park and there are three sites, so you can purchase a ticket for 1, 2 or 3 of them - though they did seem time restrictive. I only did the house and it's a pretty quick look at the two rooms of the shotgun house. You can walk around the grounds and there is small gift shop. It's fine if you're interested in Elvis history but other than that, it's a fairly short visit.

The birthplace house is very interesting to walk through. Hard to imagine a family living in such small quarters. The museum is tiny, but there were some interesting pieces of memorabilia. There was a man sitting outside the entrance of the museum who kept asking us questions. We were not sure if he was an employee or just someone random, but it was off-putting. After the second time, we went out of our way to avoid him.

You can tour the Elvis Presley birthplace house and his first church in Tupelo. On our visit at 12 p.m., the church had a speaker and movie presentation what a church service would have been like during Elvis childhood. The visit also includes a small museum and movie as well as a gift shop. Walking paths to several statues of Elvis are on the property. Free parking and $20 admission fee ($15 for senior citizens).

Tupelo was a nice trip, we drove the Natchez Trace Trail from Cherokee Alabama and exited at Tupelo by the visitor center. I thoroughly enjoyed Relic antiques! A must see if in Tupelo, really cool place. Of course had to have a picture with the Elvis statue in front of the courthouse. We went over to the Elvis birthplace museum but it closed at 4pm. So maybe we can go next time we are in the area.

If you are an Elvis fan this is a must do, if you’re not really a fan don’t waste time going here. I am a fan and my family arrived early on a Sunday afternoon. I think it cost around $60 for 3 to tour the museum, house, and church. We started out in the museum which was actually quite small and a little disappointing considering it was an Elvis museum. There were no pics allowed in the museum but there were several displays in the hallway leading up to a theater you could take pics of. You could spend $1.50 on a book that gave you info on everything and the same map you can get off the website. We bought the book because the money goes to the museum and exhibits. Leaving the museum we walked to the small 2 room house. We were told the house is in its original location and is the actual house but furnishings are not from Presley family but instead donations. It was interesting to see how small the house was and listen to the guide talk about how they would have lived then. Once we left the house we walked to the church that was the church Elvis attended and moved to this site. The rest of the grounds had several statues and a ton of info about the time Elvis spent in Tupelo. If you’re wanting to see the superstar Elvis go to Graceland but if you want to see how the superstar came to be the info is here. You can tour the grounds free but spend the money and take it all in.

Entrance is $20 to visit everything. You have Elvys' parents' house as well as the church where he sang with his parents, when screens come down from all sides of the building and you have a film made with actors, you have the impression of 'being in the moment with the people singing. Everything is original and very well preserved, entry is $20 but you have several site visits and especially in the park a very moving status of Elvys with her cape and children. The store is all affordable and you have a monument in memory of Evys' twin brother to commemorate with a magnificent jet of water. There is ample parking so finding the place is no problem because it is very well signposted and Flechet. You can be as lucky as we were to visit the school in Homage to Elvys opposite.

Elvis birth place and home has been restored to as close as possible to original. The docent was well informed and engaging. The grounds were well kept.

In the museum you see many documents about the time a young boy grew up, very poor, and moved on to become one of the greatest entertainers in history. Lots of positive testimonials from locals who knew Elvis as a child.

The recreation of a 1950 church service in the original church Elvis and family attended was well done. The docent helped make the 15 minute video "interactive" with the audience joining in the singing and claping in a pentecostal church service.

This was a good place to stop and stretch our legs when traveling. We did not pay to actually go into the buildings, but I don’t feel it’s necessary unless you are a huge Elvis fan or something. We were perfectly content seeing the outside of the buildings, reading the plaques, seeing the statues, taking photos, and wandering the garden areas. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The gift shop is cute with unique items and clean bathrooms.

Elvis' birthplace - Tupelo, MS is about 1 hour 25 min from Graceland. The small shotgun home is on the original location with his childhood church being relocated to the birth site. The older woman in the home actually played in the home years after the Presleys lost the home. She was full of wonderful insight as to what items were original and the fact that Vernon Presley himself oversaw the placement of the home furniture etc. The presentation in the church was lovely as it put you back in time. Very nice displays and friendly and informative staff. Would highly recommend!
We arrived later in the afternoon around 3:00 pm and it was not busy at all. $15.00 each for adults to see and experience everything.
Before you arrive, check the hours of operation as some people later in the day were turned away.

We stopped here on a road trip from texas to Georgia because my dad is a huge elvis fan! He was before my time but I still enjoyed reading about the history of his life and how he went from being dirt poor to super rich. It truly is an inspirational story! The grounds are open and free to tour including all the statues and the reflection pond. You have to pay to see the museum and to go inside the home where elvis was born. The church was not open to the public but we took pictures of the outside of it. While it was a nice history lesson for me I wish I had skipped the museum and house tour and just walked the grounds. You cannot take pictures inside the museum (which is full of elvis memorabilia) and the small house literally took less than 5 minutes to walk through. So unless you are a die hard elvis fan I would recommend just doing the free stuff and visiting the gift shop (which is quite large). Would I visit again? No....for me this was a one time visit kinda thing.

This museum is really well done and even though we didn't pay for the actual tour, we could still experience much of the museum other than entering the house. We appreciated that since Graceland is ridiculously expensive. We learned a lot and were impressed by the care the museum took to make this experience positive. Also, you can buy cutouts at the gift shop!

This museum is well worth the stop. It contains many exhibits and stories of how the King of Rock and Roll raised himself from poor/humble beginnings to super stardom. The guides who populate the Museum are passionate about their favorite son and really add meat to the bone to give visitors a full historical experience. We combined this stop into our travel itinerary after visiting Graceland in Memphis TN so it really made the Elvis Experience complete. Highly recommended!!

We were looking for something to do in northern Mississippi, and this fit the bill. Graceland is too expensive for us (not being hardcore Elvis fans), so this allowed us to get a taste of the American experience that is Elvis. The museum is quick and understated, and focuses mainly on his life growing up. We did not pay to go into his birth house, which is fine since it is a tiny two-room shack and viewing it from the outside more or less makes the point that he grew up poor. It was nice to walk around the grounds and see the shrine and memorial that has been made for a real icon f American music. Bonus points for a great gift shop.

The Elvis Presley Birthplace and Museum in Tupelo, Mississippi, is a pilgrimage site for any Elvis fan. It's a place where you can walk in the footsteps of the King of Rock 'n' Roll himself. The small house where he was born, the nearby chapel, and the museum showcasing memorabilia from his life and career are all incredibly fascinating. You can't help but feel a connection to the music legend. However, it's essential to note that it's relatively compact, so you can cover everything fairly quickly. If you're looking for an all-day adventure, you might find that you've seen it all sooner than expected. Nonetheless, the experience of tracing the roots of the musical icon is truly special.
