The Lawn On D Powered by Citizens is Boston’s most innovative and vibrant seasonal outdoor venue in the heart of the thriving South Boston Waterfront District. Open from May to November, there is always something to see, do or experience at The Lawn On D. Open daily during designated hours, The Lawn On D provides a colorful collection of public seating and lounge chairs, interactive art exhibitions, assorted games such as bocce and ping-pong, and free Wi-Fi. The Lawn On D is the perfect place to relax, enjoy the South Boston neighborhood, and spend time with friends and family.

This area has been expanding and becoming more and more popular, for good reason. Not surprisingly, the seaport district of South Boston is located beautifully along the water. The area is designed for easy strolling along the HarborWalk, and there are bars and restaurants for all ages and budgets. The Institute of Contemporary Art is located in this area in a contemporary building with an absolutely stunning deck overlooking the water. In the summer time there are Friday music concerts on the deck of the museum. Nearby, there are many green spaces to enjoy.

Oh what fun here. Located in the South Boston neighborhood, there is a great mix of things to do for the young and young at heart. Interactive art exhibits, colorful public seating, it was a great break from shopping.

We had a corporate party in this sort of party-style amusement park. While the eating didn't impress me while the booze was flowing, I really enjoyed the chance to try pickleball and take two pitches at baseball for the first time in my life. In addition to these giant chess, bowls, table tennis, games like jenga, naval battle and force 4 in giant version and lots of background music.

There are both private event capabilities here or The Lawn on D is open to the public during designated hours. Check out their website for up to the minute fun activities in the South Boston neighborhood. A perfect place to enjoy what the city has to offer.

This place is great for entertaining kids when the weather is nice, they have corn hole boards, the swings, ping pong, and giant checkers and plenty of space to run around. As a adult, I wanted to swing too but the seats were all taken by kids mostly and the drink prices were expensive for not even high end liquor. They did have some food trucks but we didn’t eat there, maybe I missed them but I also didn’t see restrooms? They did have a stage so I imagine they do live music.

We were in our hotel and noticed glowing things down below. We went out exploring after dark. I asked the cops at the gate what this was and he replied “something better than the couch!” And it was. Even though we were visiting the water front for a graduation the next day, we had fun on the glowing swings and there was live music and cornhole game going on. Great fun on the lawn!!!

The Lawn on D is a unique experience. I highly recommend visiting this place - at least once - to experience some type of crazy fun in the dark! Life sized chess and checker pieces, along with glowing O's to swing in and take photos are really the highlight. You can have drinks and appies on the lawn and watch the big screen TV while taking everything in. My only complaint was that some of the swings did not light up so everyone was waiting in line to attack the O that had a beautiful glow! Wonderful experience overall! Take a night and check it out!

Love the Lawn on D. We went here after dinner and enjoyed playing corn hole and swinging on the LED swings. Though half were burned out which was disappointing as we were never able to get on a lit up one. Still fun though. The band playing was great as well.

Went here during a recent visit to Boston with a friend. Got some great pictures on the swings. Was a little crowded because a family reunion was going on while we were there. Weather was perfect and it was a great place to hang out in the city during the day.

There is metered street parking available on D Street and a self-pay lot located at the Lot On D across from The Lawn On D, next to the Element Boston Seaport Hotel. The entrance to the lot is on Danby Street. This is the official parking lot of The Lawn On D. This lot is also handicap accessible. You can find more information on our website.
