About
Boston’s “Politically Incorrect North End Food Tours Boston's "North End" is a pocket-sized Italian neighborhood teaming with history and charm. Among the narrow streets, hidden alleyways and park benches you will find The Paul Revere House, and The Old North Church. Absorbing the history and folklore of the North End cannot be done properly without coupling it with the culinary lining of the neighborhood. As home to over eighty restaurants and countless wine shops, bakeries, and Italian salumerias. It is safe to say you won’t leave hungry because I will take you to many of these shops where you will endulge on some of the best foods Little Italy has to offer . The great food goes hand and hand with the great stories Anthony, your local guide, will tell you . Anthony is the only Italian speaking guide born and raised in the neighborhood .Many tours go through this neighborhood and everyone proclaims how local they are . NOT TRUE . Only two of us are local.

We loved our tour with Anthony. He is hilarious and knowledgable. It was our first time visiting Boston and we wanted to see the best parts of the city. Anthony grew up and still lives in the North End so he was able to tell us so much information about the city and take us to all of the great food spots. We were also surprised the tour was 3 hours long. Most walking tours don't run that long, so it was definitely worth the money. We enjoyed every thing we ate and can't wait to go back and do it again.

Truly, Flash was a terrific guide. He represents his neighborhood proudly and his stories bring the rich history of the North End to life. Of course the food is delicious: the Italian sub and affogato are the best that you can find anywhere. I wish that I had bought more coffee from Polcari's because my husband loves it and their prices are unbeatable for whole bean. My family enjoyed this outing. I recommend taking this tour when you first arrive Boston, that way you know the best places to dine while visiting. Keep truckin' Flash and thanks for keeping it real.

Anthony, aka Flash, is an amazing story teller and brings authenticity to this Italian North End food tour! The people in the neighborhood know him and he appears to really care about sharing his love of the neighborhood and its food with visitors. We had some GREAT food with stories to go with each stop! He isn't afraid to tell you what is "hype" and what is authentic and why! The only downfall was that COVID has prevented a lot of indoor portions of the tour, so we stood and ate a lot of the food outside. I'd have paid a little extra to reserve a table (even outside & I know they are a premium to the restaurants) to sit and eat and hear the stories while I ate.

We recently visited Boston and when I asked my son for a recommendation of a “must do” while we were in Boston he immediately said Boston’s politically incorrect food tour. I signed up and I am so glad I did. Flash, our food tour guide was great! He was funny, personable, interesting and engaging. He told us awesome true stories about the history of the area. He has lived there all his life and so he had a personal connection to his stories. It was evident that the people who lived in the area knew him and liked him. He was open, honest, and not afraid to tell it like he saw it. The food was great. He loves to joke around. Ya never know what he is going to come up with next. So glad we signed up. If you are headed to Boston and wondering what to do for fun- don’t think twice- sign up to spend 3 hrs with Flash!

Far and away, the best food tour in North America. Anthony has a gritty, authentic grasp on Boston’s North End - it’s history, it’s people, and most importantly, it’s cuisine. From beginning to end you will be entertained, informed, indulged and inspired by Anthony and his friends.
Thank you, “Flash”! Our family will always have a Guy in Boston.

We booked this for our friend’s surprise birthday celebration. Being “Politically Incorrect” we weren’t quite sure what we were in for. Lo and behold, meeting Anthony for the first time, with cigarette and coffee in hand, we knew this wasn’t your typical tour with energetic tour guide that does this as a side job. No, Anthony is the “real deal.” This tour is a love-letter to his home and neighborhood. He is a storyteller with history and facts about the North End from the first immigrants (not Italian) to the mob’s influence. Being born and raised in the North End we got to view life growing up there to the present through his eyes. He told us he knows everyone and he wasn’t kidding! Lots of “Hey Anthony” as we toured. The food was fabulous, too. Pizza, Hero sandwich (with such finely-cut prosciutto), ravioli, caprese, gelato and a scrumptious dessert that was not a cannoli! This tour made us feel like we had an inside peek into some of the best and beloved local fare that we would never been privy to. Highly recommend this delightful tour with the most interesting, hilarious and knowledgeable Anthony!

We had a group of 9, and we all agree that Flash's insight into the North End was interesting and entertaining. The food was outstanding and not anything we would have found on our own. - definitely places frequented by locals. Super casual and laid-back tour. Our entire group even scouted out the deli and bakery later in the week and altered our sightseeing routes to eat there again - it was that good! (The pastries were had by all on 3 different occasions during the trip! Thank goodness we walked them off.) A friend took this tour a month ago and made us book it when she found out we were going to Boston. I won't hesitate to recommend Anthony and Boston's "Politically Incorrect" North End Food Tour in the future!

Anthony did a great job telling lots of back-stories about growing up in North Boston (aka Little Italy). He was funny, educational and entertaining. The food on the tour was excellent. It was truly a highlight of our 2 week tour in the New England States.

So we booked this tour way back on July 11, 2020 (spent $229.77). We went to the spot to wait, but no one ever showed. We tried calling and emailing Anthony, but got nothing. I then received an email a couple of days later saying he messed up with his system. He offered to give us another tour or refund our money. I told him I would like a refund. A couple of weeks went by and I asked again about my refund. His wife responded back that Anthony was in the hospital, but she would take care of it. I felt bad so gave them a break. I then received an email on 8/7/20 that I have been refunded. I read the fine print and it said my refund could take up to 30 days. Well we are past the 30 days and I have yet to see a refund. Beware folks, don't book this!!!!!

I realize that guest may be upset that their refund took longer than expected. Unfortunately the problem was for about a month and early in the Covid 19 crises because I literally had to refund thousands of dollars from all the cancellations. Because of the circumstances my refund account was depleted and as soon as i was able to process those refunds I did so. To say the least this isn't a normal situation. On top of the pandemic I had my own Covid 19 scare . All in all this is not the way I usually do business and if you look at all my reviews they are all positive. I know that everyone is suffering through this pandemic and personally with small businesses like myself going out of business I don't think I would of tried to hurt them even more than we have been hurt already by writing a negative review in the worst of times and the reviews will lower my overall average and I find it sad that people jump to online reviews against anybody that's already been beat up enough from pandemic but I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion and me wishing that maybe a more compassionate world will come out of the Covid 19 crises is just a thought and the norm seems to be more about ME ME ME . I'm sorry about you refund.

This was one really good tour. Our tour leader Anthony spun a fascinating narrative and provided a lot great food. Anthony was interesting, funny, authentic, opinionated and irreverent (in a good way). He tied together the history of the North End with what we see now. He is a lifelong resident of the North End. He made connections to his family’s experience that made the story come alive. And he knows a lot about food. He brought us to markets, restaurants and shops we would not have found ourselves. He was attentive to our needs for food, water, restrooms and some down time to chat with others in the group. We left with an appreciation of the North End and with ideas for places we want to try next. All that and we were entertained for hours!

Is the tour appropriate for 13 and 15 year old boys who are easily embarrassed? Assuming the tour will not include a stop at Momma's house in August 2021, what's the substitution?

Sorry for very late response . Didn't see this in my app until now but if still interested we compensate and give more food along the stops to make up for the food we had at mamas house . Also the kids would enjoy my sarcasm and no filter attitude. Hopefully info is still helpful . If you haven't already taken tour then I hope to see you soon
Thank you
Anthony

Hi, we're super excited about this tour but I have a couple of food allergies (pine nuts and sea food). Would the tour guide be able to help with this, ie. let me know what foods are safe?

No problem, the tour is sensitive to allergy issues. Loved this tour!

Has anyone done the Sunday tour that includes a full dinner (and is quite a bit more expensive)?

No but Anthony said it is basically the same with more food at mamas house.

Can you accommodate gluten allergy? Party of 6 but one is gluten free.

I think you should contact the tour guide directly; most of the snacks and food had gluten (sandwiches, cookie/crackers, Italian bread, pizza, pasta, cannoli - your friend would still enjoy the info, sights and shops but would have to order different food or bring their own I believe.

Hi I’m just wondering where the closest place to park would be to the start of the tour.

Wow, tough question as parking is lousy all over the north end. We usually take the ferry from Hingham and walk all over that area of Boston. Good luck.

We are older and sometimes keeping up with a fast pace walk could be a problem. Walking on cobble stone is a problem also. How fast does walking your tour go? leisure?
Richard M

It is a leisurely pace.
Are there options for those who are gluten free?
Anthony
Boston, MA6 contributions
I'm sorry but that's one I don't have any options. Everything is pasta , pizza, Italian sub etc . I can recommend Michele to par gluten free tour . She actually has a complete gluten free tour . It just would be to hard for me to do .
