Attended a wedding in Boston. The trolley provided thransport from the hotel to church and back. Very clean trolley. Driver was a hoot. Had a great sense of humor.

I would seriously recommend old town tours to anyone who is visiting the city for the first time , it is a great way to get a feel and appreciation of Boston .. The service was on time , the trolley buses were clean and tidy and the drivers were very good especially hambone and glen .. Knowledgeable and friendly... More

The hop on/hop off tours are often a good way to get the lay of the land....we rode it twice in a day and therefore had two different drivers, both knowledgeable and entertaining. I was disappointed with our last driver; he indicated we would drive to the Bunker Hill Monument and then promptly turned the bus the other way and... More

we purchased pass for family of 4. the 2nd day option came in handy for points of interest that you may have missed on day 1. Pickup on time. Trolley pickups are frequent. we never waited more that 5 minutes at any stop.

This was the best thing that my family did on our trip to Boston. Trolleys run every 15 minutes at 16 different stops throughout Boston. And the driver on each Trolley takes the time to point out all the history of Boston and other random knowledge you wouldn't normally learn in all your years of schooling. Stops ranged from stopping... More

Excellent tour covering most of Boston's historical sites. An interesting way to see the City and the drivers/guides were knowledgeable and amusing. The buses are comfortable and run frequently, we never had to wait long for one.

We took this the first day to get a perspective on where things were and what we could do. The trip offered a 2 hour tour straight through or you could hop on and off when you wanted. Additionally you can use the ticket the second day as well. We took advantage of the tour twice and both drivers were... More

We were on the trolley with the driver Mr Kelley who was informative and had a great sense of humor. We stayed on for almost the full trip which was and hour and three quarters but time flew by. Showed Boston as not a very big city but with lots of history and place to see. Must do for any... More

This is perfect for your first day in Boston. You get a good idea of the geography of Boston and which locations are a must see. Drivers very knowledgeable and you get to see areas you may not have considered. Plenty of on/off stops.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
