If you buying trolley tickets to get around the city you will be fine. If you riding for the tour do not get 9n Gonzo's bus. He is rude and not a very good guide. We heard more about other peoples driving than we did good information and the stupid black and white pictures he would hold up were useless... More

What a GREAT tour!!! My partner and I travel often and always take advantage of the hop on/off tours, but this experience was the best we've had yet! We had about 3 tour guides on Sunday 2/19/17 however Michaelangelo was by far the best! When I say the BEST, I truly mean it. I don't normally write reviews but he... More

My hubby and I were in Boston to celebrate with family. We flew in after a major snowstorm and the sidewalks in Boston were understandably messy but disappointing because hubby had never been to Boston. The hotel had a registration desk for the Trolly and our great concierge Angela at the Coply Place Marriott recommended it as an alternative way... More

Despite their only being a handful of customers, the guide was absolutely excellent and full of detail that was fascinating about the city. Bonus to get second day free and free entrance to old city hall and the Boston tea party museum - A promotional offer for fall. A great way to acclimatise yourself to the city if you're visiting... Used this service over two days during a visit to Boston. Excellent way of 15 stop hop on, hop off right around the city with very good commentary thats both humourous and knowledgeable. Not to be missed!

Jumped on tour trolley at the harbour, tickets 37 dollars each for two days with admission to Boston tea party and the old state house which was closed for maintenance, but still worth the money to see the town. Personally I found Boston's lay out very challenging maybe because we had just come from New York and their grid system created... More

Brilliant service prior to trip, the host was excellent, informative and amusing and personable! This is a great trip to take to hop on and off to see the city or to just stay on if you don't want to walk! We got on and off several times and found the trip hugely enjoyable.

The pricing structure was somewhat confusing and wasn't particularly explained well. The tour company follows the same route as all the other companies. We did the loop twice and hopped onto 3 buses along the way meaning we had 3 very different guides offering their own take on Boston, it's history and anecdotes. If you're short on time, like us,... Took the trolley tour (on a bus) round Boston earlier today. Good route with as many significant locations as could be included in the two hour timescale. Our driver/guide was Townie, he struck the ideal balance between humour and a brain dump of his encycyclopedic knowledge of the city. Trip enhanced by beautiful winter weather and a light load of... We had a wonderful 2 day experience with Old Town Trolley Tours in Boston! They gave us so much information about the city and provided comic relief! Papa, Townie, Scribe and J took us along the route and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Even though we have been to Boston on many visits, this was our first time on the tour.... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
