The new Monica Giordano play "From the Sea to Somewhere Else" at the Boston Center for the Arts through July 23rd explores magic of many kinds: fairy tale magic, magician's magic, but mostly the magic of theater. This fast paced, entertaining show is appropriate for all ages. The boy Jack meets the mermaid Marissa when both are children by the... More

***** Five Stars!!!!! Do not miss this show. The leads, the ensemble, the music, direction, and staging are fantastic. If you've seen the show elsewhere, give yourself a treat and see this production and this cast. If you've not seen Violet, do, now. But Hurry! It closes this week, Sat. Feb. 6.

I went to a performance here last night with my wife. We enjoyed the show entitled milk like sugar. The cast was excellent and we much enjoyed the show. I recommend this venue.

Staying in the City and looking for live theatre we came across the Boston Center. Really friendly community arts hub set in Tremont Street. Easy access, many cafe and restaurant facilities nearby in a buzzing area. There were several events in progress on the day we visited and this project rightly deserves support. Oh, and the Speakesy Theatre production set... More

Staying in South End

Neighborhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
