Having recently moved to Boston, I decided to take a walking tour to get to know my new city better. I found Paula and her Off The Eaten Path tour by googling and reading lots of reviews and doing my research. There were so many good reviews for this trip and seeing that it involved food, I was sold! I booked it the evening before the trip was scheduled for and Paula messaged me the morning of the tour to make sure I knew where to meet and she was so understanding and accommodating of my dietary restrictions. Right away I knew this was off to a good start! And I was right! I had the best time on this tour! Paula told us interesting stories about the history of North End interwoven with her personal stories and punctuated with really delicious food! I was so full by the end of the tour but I still wanted more! I discovered so many new places that I know I’m going to go back to and bring friends and family with me to check out these places as well. Any excuse to come hang out in this neighborhood! Paula’s stories and her own obvious love of North End made me love the neighborhood too and appreciate its history, culture, vibrancy, and of course the mouth watering food! I also met some really lovely people on this tour from around the country. (Special shout out to my new marathon runner friends from Utah! Good luck on Monday!) I would highly recommend this walking tour with Paula to everybody! It’s an experience to have when visiting Boston or even if you’re from here and want to explore the city for a few hours doing something different from the usual and try delicious food while you’re at it, you can’t beat this tour! Highly, highly recommend this tour! Paula and this tour are both absolutely amazing! You won’t regret the time spent on this tour!

My husband and I signed up for the Off the Eaten Path tour as part of our first trip to Boston, and we were not disappointed. There was only one other couple on our tour, so the experience was extremely personal. Paula's passion for her neighborhood was obvious. We learned some history of Italy as well as of the North End - many fascinating facts that I was previously unaware of. You really get a feel for this lovely area - what it's like now as well as what it was like in years past. A variety of food experiences were included, from delicious pizza to amazing balsamic vinegar to an outstanding tortellini to canoli and gelato - and more. As others have stated, you will not leave hungry. Paula mentioned that she never gives the same tour twice, and as a "north ender," she has obvious connections with the folks who run the establishments we visited. She also gave a great recommendation for dinner the next night (Prezza - so good!). I highly recommend this tour if you're in Boston!

I really appreciate this very thoughtful and generous review! I love sharing the neighborhood with my guests and it’s true that every tour is customized for the interests of my group. I’m also Always trying to learn more so I can make the tour a more enriching, ( and entertaining) experience. I’m so glad that you enjoyed Prezza! It’s one of my favorite special occasion restaurants in the neighborhood. Thank you again for picking this experience.

I highly recommend Paula’s amazing tour of the North End! It was such an enjoyable day learning about Italy, the North End, the Italian experience in Boston while enjoying incredibly delicious food, and wine. There were plenty of stops along the way for restroom breaks, the walking pace was leisurely, and Paula made it a fantastic day. The other reviews commenting on the quality and quantity of the food are spot on—bring an appetite! I can’t thank Paula enough for her warmth, graciousness, and knowledge. This tour is great for work/team building, families, couples, tourists, and native Bostonians!

Thank you so much, Michelle, for picking my tour for your team building activity. I know that there are currently many tours in the North End to choose from, but I’m very proud to provide the most delicious one by far: Anyone can come to the North End for a Mikes Cannoli, a slice of pizza , and a sandwich. I want to share foods and gems that you wouldn’t do on your own, all the while learning about the food and how it connects to the culture of the neighborhood and Italy. This is the tour for foodies and history lovers. I’m so glad you enjoyed it so much. This wonderful feedback is deeply appreciated!

We learned a lot about what made the North End the North End, ate A LOT of great food (seriously, I’m still stuffed), and overall just had a great time. Paula’s passion for her neighborhood is obvious as she shares its rich history and local gems. The personal touch of a “local” is why we chose Off the Eaten Path, and I’m so thankful we did!!

Molly, Thank you for joining me. I really believe that having a local guide can make or break a tour experience. A neighborhood as special and unique as the North End is best shared by someone who is connected to the neighborhood. There are so many corporate tours with scripted guides, that have no connection to the places or people in the community. I think the secret sauce of my tour isn’t just that the food is delicious and plentiful, but the authenticity of the experience. I’m so glad that came through for you.
