Not sure where to begin, but it was my first time going to Italy so I wasn't sure what to expect. The experience visiting the country was amazing to say the least. Visiting Rome, Modena and Bologna and the places we ate, were making me think I really made it in life! Having the traditional Italian dishes, meeting random people on the streets and having a friendly discussion is something people need in their life. Whether you speak Italian or not (which I don't at all) I think this experience is worthwhile.
While I'm not the biggest exotic car enthusiast, I do like cars to an extent (more on the German cars that I could afford I guess, lol). Either way, visiting the factories was quite the experience. Getting to see how they make these machines all the way down to the individuals who sow the seats and dashes. Learning along the way why they make the cars the way they do was interesting too. For good/obvious reasons, we couldn't take pictures inside, but being able to have that type of access will leave you speechless and a greater appreciation for exotic cars. Even learning the history behind the cars and seeing the model cars and the transformation of them was an experience on its own.
*Disclaimer: I went earlier than the review selection allows.

If you enjoy cars and their history, then this is a great trip to consider! Ray and the team did a wonderful job of organizing and delivering a trip that was super fun, interesting and with a good group of people. Really enjoyed the experience and getting to know Ray and folks involved with the tour. Highlights were the food, factory & museum tours and the camaraderie. Highly recommended!
I purchased this trip for my husband for his 50th birthday as a surprise. He loves cars and especially the exotic ones like we saw in Italy. I heard about this from and email sent by Motorsport Lab. We have never been to Europe or out of the United States for the most part. After years of COVID quarantine this seemed like something we needed to treat ourselfs to. We were a little nervous prior to leaving but Motorsport Lab was available to answer any questions we had. This trip far exceeded our expectations because every detail was planned from the start to finish. Our tour guide and driver were awesome. The google translate app was also very helpful. We had amazing meals all scheduled in advance at quaint local favorites. The sports car tours were amazing and truly show what a large part of the history and culture these cars have been. The chance to learn how to make fresh pasta and the visit to a local winery did not disappoint.
Ray Chang, our trip host from Motorsport Lab was truly the best and so personable. He has traveled all over and he shared many meals with us but also respected our wish to venture out on our own if we wished. It felt like we had known him for years and he became part of our family for that week. We met so many amazing people on this trip from all different backgrounds all over the United States and beyond. We had many meals together and shared stories of how we all came to enjoy this adventure.
The trip lasted 8 days and we were sad to leave when the time ended because we truly enjoyed every minute of this adventure to Bologna, Italy with the group we traveled with. We truly liked having someone else plan this trip because it allowed us to relax and enjoy it all without worrying about how to get around, purchase tickets and plan it all. The trip of a lifetime. We are super excited and plan to take another trip with Motorsports Lab in the near future!

My tour of the Lamborghini and Ferrari factories made me fall in love with exotics. I was already a car fan, but the experience of going with The Motorsport Lab and having a knowledgeable car enthusiast there to point out things, was better than I could imagine! I can't wait to take this trip again and see the greatest machines on wheels being built. You'll leave with a newly found respect for these beauties. Thanks to The Motorsport Lab for making it happen!

Trip was incredible! Ray was a great host and tour guide. Loved the itinerary for the trip and each day have enough time see all the things we wanted to see for that day. Awesome trip to Germany, always wanted to visit all the automakers museums and factory's. Would highly recommend to any one wanting to visit Germany. Everything was taking care of, from getting picked up at the airport, all transportation, hotels, all great. Loved it!

This trip was so well organized and led. The hotel was right in the middle of the historic section of Bologna Italy and we had a nice complementary breakfast every morning. Ray and his Italian guide, Ricardo was very knowledgeable and gracious and our Mercedes tour van was new and comfortable. Things ran on time and we packed a lot in to each day. The primary reason for the trip was to visit Italian car and motorcycle factories and museums (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, Ducati...) but we were also treated to tours of a family run prosciutto factory, an organic parmesan cheese farm, and even a serendipitous visit to Luciano Pavarotti's home and museum. On each of these tours we typically had a docent from the facility and Ricardo who would provide access to exclusive areas and knowledge that you would not have with an individual tour and we never waited in line. We enjoyed wonderful meals at lovely restaurants and even a cooking school.

Absolutely fantastic trip and fantastic friendships were made. Ray hit it out of the ballpark. Everything was well organized and the activities and trips were planned appropriately. We were not worn out every single day from walking miles. Would highly recommend to anyone that loves the car scene!

All the same reasons for the other negative reviews here- Bought the groupon thing. It is only after I bought it and signed up for a date to go that I got to see the waiver form where is says "A mandatory gratuity of 18% or $98.82 will be added to each experience for parties of 2 or more" (there were 2 of us going). What? I never heard of a "mandatory gratuity". Is this a new legal term I was not aware of? So, this immediately put me on the negative vibe feeling about this whole experience. Then I went on to read further about the $1000 fee for exceeding 7000 rpm and another $1000 fee for exceeding 8000 rpm (or something like that). And the final insult was the collision damage waiver where they wanted $20 for insurance against paint damage, $20 for insurance against tire damage...and $20 for 3 other things I did not even bother to read about. So, you pay $99 for groupon and they want another $100 for damage waiver protection. Talk about a scam. That is how they are making their money. On top of that, then they make you go around the car to mark down pre-existing damage like you are taking a rental car out of Avis. The car had 4-5 dings/scratches/paint problems already. So, they charge people $20 for damage insurance or worse make them pay out of their own pocket, then they do not bother to repair the car.
All that is bad enough but the worst part is you spend a total of 3-4 minutes in the car driving it. It was like driving around a go cart track (F1 in bridgewater is bigger than this track). I timed the 'lap' and it was 35 seconds of actual driving. It is not even a loop where you keep going around. You have to stop at the end of it and start over. Huge waste of time driving up there and back for 3 minutes in a Ferrari.
Basically, when it was all over, you go back to the check in place to "check out" which means sign off on the gratuity scam....I decided not to pay the $98 per person gratuity and decided on a different amount which was met with disgust by the young ladies doing the check in/check out work.
Can't imagine anyone paying $549 or whatever the full price of the experience is. You can rent a ferrari for 5 hours for $500 and not have to drive around a kart track.

Just came back home, severely disappointed.
My fiance bought a deal through Groupon for me as a gift. I was incredibly excited to drive a ferrari (being a sports car enthusiast). However, I was unhappy when arrived this morning and realized that there would be so many extra fees potentially charged to our credit card.
FIrst, they want an 18% tip. That's fine, every good job deserves being rewarded. But they want it on the original cost ($499), which is nearly the cost of the Groupon that my fiance purchased to begin with. So that would immediately double the price.
Second, who drives a ferrari without revving the engine? Answer: no one. They wanted around $2,000 extra if you go past 7 RPM. That's lame. I'm not going to putter around in a ferrari like I don't know how to drive it. The whole reason to test drive it is to open up the engine and enjoy the ride!
Third, they wanted to charge the credit card $7,500 if some other driver bumped into their vehicle. Umm... I'm sorry, isn't that what insurance is for? My car insurance completely covers the me as the driver of any vehicle, but they were doing it as their own insurance. Ridiculous.
Some people may be okay with those charges, but I don't have the budget to worry about potentially having to deal with an extra $9,500 on my credit card (especially with a wedding on the horizon).
It's too bad, was really looking forward to driving the car this morning.

This review is for the Loudon, NH Ferrari Agility Experience. Let me say first that the people working the event were very kind and helpful. When you buy the Groupon there is a small paragraph on the Groupon itself that says, "The Fine Print". Within that it says "Must sign waiver. Must be 21 or older with a valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance. Credit card required for incidentals and reservations." My experience was fun but in several ways it was disappointing. Allow me to elaborate:
1. Waivers & Disclaimers - I figured there would be some paperwork and proof insurance required, which there was, but the document you need to read through is 15 pages long! Reading it on the way to the track, I nearly turned back. It's chock full of legalese about thousands of dollars you will have to pay if something goes awry ,how it's all your fault even if it's their fault, and the first thing that will happen is a $7500 charge on your credit card does go wrong. Yikes!
There are a total of $150 in waivers you can "opt-in" on. One that caught my eye was that they automatically charge you $1500 if you go over 6500 RPM even if by accident. They charge an additional $1500 if you redline the car at 8K RPM. If you pay $70 up front, you can buy a waiver for both of those occurrences. Now, I had no intention of redlining the car and in reality I never came close to 6500 RPM because the course is too short but god forbid if my foot got a cramp or something and it cost me $2500. Scary stuff so I forked over the $20 for 6500 RPM protection. I was informed that someone ended up damaging a wheel the day before and the form states that "the average cost for replacement rims is $2,000 each and tires are $500". So I choked up another $20 for protection on that too. I didn't want to have to think about all this while I was out there trying to have fun. In short, I paid an additional $100 for peace of mind via various wavers.
2.) Tips - The 15-page form states that the driving Sherpas who assist you, "...are compensated by gratuity, so please be courteous and tip on the full amount of the experience as indicated on your Groupon...Our recommended customary gratuity for our driving sherpas are: 8% of $549 (original price) = $98.82, 20% of $549 (original price) = $109.80, 25% of $549 (original price) = $137.25." These guys are working hard. They help you get the most out of the experience so short-changing them really didn't seem fair given that they recommend an 18% minimum. The upside to this was that Motorsport Labs matches all 20% tips with a donation to non-profit use of their vehicles with organizations like Starlight Children’s Foundation. So I ponied up another $120 because I hope charities can benefit somehow and I think the Sherpa did a fine job. That's very cool but my $99 Groupon was now costing me $310 to drive guilt and worry-free. Since the tip and the waivers were both opt-ins, it's easy to take my comments and say, "Hey, nobody forced you to pay more so lighten up." but not get these waivers seems dangerous and it seems wrong and unfair not to tip since the Sherpas are compensated via gratuities.
3.) The Track - Looking at the drawing of the track on the 15-page document, you'd think it's massive. The parking lot of my office is twice the size of the Motorsport Lab track. As another reviewer stated, their check-in area was in the concrete ladies room in a small parking lot. Couldn't they get a large tent or something? There's something unsavory about checking into a $300 event in a public restroom. The track is about 100 cones short of what it should have. Good luck figuring out which cones you're supposed to go around. They had a pile of unused cones laying around so I'm not sure if they don't use them so it's intentionally hard to find your way around the track (thus reducing speeds as drivers try to figure out where to go) or if it was just ignorance. In the training they do cover why some cones are turned on their sides to point you in the right direction, but when you're trying to figure out how much throttle and steering should be applied, the last thing you want to worry about is whether you're actually not following the course. Come on, guys. Load up the track with cones so that turns are clearly defined. Being able to see clearly-defined course boundaries will keep the Sherpa from having to shout the entire time to tell you where the course goes next. Talk about distracting. I couldn't focus on the drive because I had to process where to go via audible calls instead of eyesight. Weird and disappointing.
4.) Memorabilia - Ah. What could be better than a 1080p video of your experience? Another $30 and they'll post it to Vimeo for you. I'm guessing that takes about 10 minutes from start to finish to upload a video so that works out to about $180/hour in labor for them to provide a video for you.
5.) Testimonials - The large number of great testimonials from verified customers via Genbook and the Motorsport Lab site are one of the things that allayed my concerns about buying into the Groupon. Now I realize that these are all filtered so only positive reviews are shown. I thought Genbook was independent but it appears that all they do is verify with Motorsport Lab that the customer actually attended. The decision on which ones are online remains with Motorsport Lab. I know that now but it wasn't readily obvious to me before the purchase. It sounded like everyone loves it but it's clear by viewing the Trip Advisor site that I'm not alone in disappointment.
6.) That "I've been had" feeling - From the moment I saw how small the track was, to the restroom office, to the filtered testimonials and the cost of the waivers and tips it was easy to get the sense that the Groupon was a little bit of a trick to get me and others to spend three times that much on a low-rent experience with a phenomenal driving machine. Yuck. Loved the car, but the execution could absolutely be better. Putting some of the extra costs such as waivers and tips IN the Groupon "Fine Print" paragraph would go a long way toward people going in with eyes wide open. Even a link directly to the 15-page document would be better. Some photos of the actual track would also be terrific, but that would probably hurt business.
To conclude, if you walk away from the Ferrari Agility Experience for anywhere near your $99 Groupon price, you pretty much need to be a genuine risk-taker where money is concerned and potentially a cheapskate who doesn't tip helpful workers. Driving a Ferrari was an amazing experience, but the hidden costs, filtered testimonials, bathroom office and the distraction of the Sherpa shouting because the track isn't clearly defined were all disappointments.

We've emailed over and over and cannot get a simple reply. They sell hundreds of these Groupons and now I see them on Living Social, but only have a few dates you can book appointments for. So they are making thousands and leaving customers hanging not able to make an appointment for the very few dates and spots available. My kids purchased this for a Christmas gift for their Dad and how embarrassing for him to try to make an appointment on one of the few dates available and nothing is left. How does this make sense? We've contacted Groupon, they tell us to email hello@motorsportlab.com but we've done this over and over and zero reply. Doesn't anyone find it odd they don't have a phone number? You can only contact via email. So frustrated and will be going to all the local media to report this company so they can do stories on it. I'm sure we cannot possibly be the only people that paid the money and there are no available appointments. This is in Portland, Oregon.

Booked an appointment for Saturday April 21 and I need directions as to where I’m going?

There should be an address or telephone number or something. Like the other person stated, it depends on where you're doing it at. Look up their website and go from there.

I am doing the experience with my spouse tomorrow and wondered, what a fair tip is. I got the groupon rate of ~$100.
Written August 13, 2017
I read a review that said you have to have a credit card with $7000 limit for damages or pay a non-refundable $190? Considering purchasing but Groupon really should warn you about that. What other fees can I expect?
Written June 28, 2017
The papers say that you must have a CC with $7000 limit but they did not check and we didn't pay the $190 fee. We didn't buy any extra fee, just the Groupon. Don't worry, is an amazing experience, just enjoy!

I already purchased a 3 laps from groupon to be delivered as a gift in an email on March 17th. How can I add 3 more laps as a gift to the same person for a better experience at a discount price. I saw people post that they were able to add 3 laps for $99... we live in Virginia Beach Va thanks.

Are the cars automatic or stick? My husband is 6'2" and is 300 lbs, is there a weight limit?

I am 6'1, the instructor will assist in setting your seat position so that your body geometry is right (not overextending or "reaching" for the pedals). The Ferrari has no clutch (well, it does, but its a long story), but does have paddle shifters. Simply put your foot on the brake, flick it into 1st and hit the gas (slowly). When you want to shift you just pull back on the paddle one more time. The clutchless system is impossible to stall from a standstill and allows for manual shifting even under acceleration.
