Live Like A Local Tours gives you a chance to explore Boston's neighborhood microbreweries, Distillers and local food spots in Jamaica Plain, Dorchester, and Roxbury. Pairing craft beer with local mom and pop businesses that wouldn't otherwise get the opportunity to expose tourists to cultural foods like Ethiopian, Afro-Latin and Caribbean cuisine.

Our work team had the pleasure of going on the Nubian Square tour as part of an annual retreat. The tour was even better than expected. Collin Knight is a fantastic guide, and it was great to learn about the history of the neighborhood and the richness of this community. We heard about prominent people who have shaped the area and took in architectural, artistic and restaurant highlights. Collin made the tour extremely enjoyable and customized it to our group's interests and time limit. He is a great ambassador for the community! At the end of the tour we all sat down at a local eatery. Collin's personable, positive energy made the entire experience enjoyable, from beginning to end.

I joined Colin's tour of Roxbury recently. It was educational and entertaining. He shared his extensive knowledge of the history, architecture, and current challenges and trends. I particularly enjoyed the discussion of the murals and how we had plenty of time to study and enjoy them.

We had the best experience on Collin's Nubian Square Tour. We were professional association looking for an educational event, and I'm so glad we went with Live Like a Local Tours. Collin's enthusiasm and knowledge of the history and culture of Nubian Square is incredible. His overall mission with Live Like a Local Tours is to give back to the community through his tours, and I loved that we were able to visit some of his favorite businesses and eateries along the way. We met some great people, saw some of the most beautiful art, and had some delicious snacks. Live Like a Local Tours also planned and organized a networking event for our group following the tour at Slade's (also amazing!) that was the perfect ending to the tour. I highly recommend Live Like a Local Tours to anyone visiting (or already living in!) Boston!

Collin is the perfect tour guide and his enthusiasm for his many projects shine through in this tour. We did the 21+ JP walking tour and learned so much about the history of this vibrant neighborhood. Collin has the ability to make the people and stories come to life. I will do another tour with him next time I visit Boston. Highly recommend.

Collin was a great guide to the lesser known history of Roxbury. He is also clearly involved in the community -- frequently running into friends on the tour and knowing the incoming developments on the street. We had 2 great snacks on the tour and a great book store stop as well. I grew up outside of Boston and didn't know any of the rich history that Collin described. He has a passion for the city and its community, which shines through in this worthwhile tour.

This is an amazing tour and we learned a lot. Collin is energetic, welcoming, passionate, and knowledgeable. We learned a ton in a short period of time — and appreciated learning more about both the big historical context of the neighborhood and the details about its famous and should be famous buildings and citizens. From our daughter: “I am 8 years old, and I am going to share what I learned with my class!”

Collin was friendly and knowledgeable and my son and I very much enjoyed having him as a guide to a part of Boston we had not experienced before. The tour was informative, well-timed and well-paced, and took us to places we will definitely visit again (especially the bookstore!) The murals were another highlight. Highly recommend to anyone!

This was an awesome tour! Collin was fun, informative, and passionate about the neighborhood in a way that made everything fun to learn and experience. Even in the freezing cold I'd still happily do this tour again. Beautiful neighborhood with rich history and culture and this is the right way to experience it. Thanks Collin!

Collin was a super fun and knowledgeable tour guide. We learned so much about the history and people of Roxbury. My husband grew up in Boston and even he learned some things! Also the food and beverage choices were perfect. We will definitely book another tour.

I booked this tour as soon as I read about it. The tour was of the Nubian Square area of Roxbury/Boston, and I was interested to learn more about this neighborhood I knew so little about!
Our guide, Collin, was fantastic. He is a local who grew up in that neighborhood, so he was able to give us a real insider's view. He was very knowledgeable about the history and the famous people who have lived and worked here. Think Malcom X and MLK for starters! Not only did we learn the history, but we also found out about some local businesses and restaurants as well. We finished up with Jamaican food and ice cream, included in the price of the tour! I now think all tours should end with ice cream. I plan to take some of his other tours as well.
