We took the full tour of all three lines, because we wanted to use the blue seaport one to avoid a 2 mile walk back to our hotel, with a time event of having to be at the airport. Our first driver was friendly, chatty, informative and really helpful. He set the standard that we hoped was going to continue.(... More

I have been on many bus tours though my travels. But I have got to say these were the worst. Waited over forty minutes for a bus to come along. Stops were not clearly marked where the bus stopped or picked you up again. Didn't have time to do many stops though hanging around waiting for the next bus.

The buses were comfortable and most of the drivers gave good information. But they don't run often enough (30 min) and you get tired of watching other companies go by. But you get what you pay for. They cost a lot less than the others for what you get.

Never see the buses. Watch other companies drive by all day (Old Town Trolley) Won't use again. We have watched 3 of Old Town drive by....20 mins and still waiting.

Loved this tour....weather was wonderful sitting in this very open bus. Got a great tour of the city & used that info for deciding where I'd like to go back & see. Got a harbor tour included with purchase. We bought our tickets at the Sheraton Hotel Back Bay which was directly across the street from our Hilton hotel...also caught... More

If you're touring around Boston, the tour itself is pretty good, however the guides aren't necessarily "friendly". If you're confused, and trying to get on the bus, they get real aggressive and rude if you try to get on without a ticket

Excellent tour guides and that's why it's a three!!! if you jump off and sightsee it's tougher to get back on and you wait too long for next trolley......meanwhile other trolley companies pass you by three times! We ended up walking back to out hotel rather than waste time standing around.

I love a city tour, it gives you the opportunity to see all the sights & decide where you might want to get off. We were lucky enough to get 3 days for the price of two & basically used it like a taxi. There are 3 tours taking you all around the city including Harvard. The guides were knowledgable... More

We got on a trolley with guide called Jonny. He was excellent, very funny and made the trip great fun. We then got off at Prudential Buildings and when we got back on had another guide who was informative but not fun like Jonny.

Staying in Charlestown

Neighborhood Profile
Charlestown
Charlestown’s hilly roads, narrow streets and gaslight lamps, make it an enticing neighborhood to visit. Follow the Freedom Trail over the Washington St bridge from the North End or take the scenic water locks to Paul Revere Park. Walk through City Square and stroll down cute Main street, wandering up the windy residential streets to Monument Square, where you can learn about the city’s history along with a great view of Boston at the Bunker Hill Monument. While it’s not a huge area, there are some excellent restaurants. Find your way to the Charlestown Navy Yard, which is a developing area with lots of condos and an additional site for Massachusetts General Hospital research centers. Here you will also find the USS Constitution Museum. After you’re done, hop on an MBTA ferry at the dock on Baxter street and zip on over to Long Wharf and the New England Aquarium.
