We provide great Private Tours using sedans,SUV,vans, Limo or buses. Our guides are all Local, mature and well-educated. We can meet you at your hotel, or the airport or at the Cruise-ship pier. Private Tours are a great way to see hilly Boston, in particular, because with our smaller vehicles,we have access to the "off the beaten" track neighborhoods and to the "hidden Boston" which you cannot see from a tour trolley or bus ( which are prohibited entry to residential areas of this 400 year old city), including our "Little Italy" and the 3rd largest Chinatown in the USA. Tours can be tailor made to meet most requests, and we can take you to see where Americas Revolution began in Lexington, and Concord, visit homes of authors, see Walden Pond and Harvard University ( which Gen. Washington borrowed to use as Americas first army base 1775 ), visit botanical or horticultural gardens and cemeteries, view interesting architecture, colleges ( more than 100 colleges/universities in Greater Boston !), Also Fenway Park, the Cheers Bar, site of 1st World Series, Freedom Trail and much, much more. Also, we provide private tours to Salem, the "Witch City" and to Newport,RI, coastal Maine,Cape Cod and Autumn foliage tours to Southern NH and Vermont. We love School group tours, half our guides have teaching certificates, several are published authors, and former National Park Guides, also,we accommodate handicapped visitors. Fees are reasonable. We also provide limited, long duration ,New England and the islands, overnight tours as well, please inquire.

Love Boston Private Tours! Not being tied to a group or schedule gives you plenty of flexibility to do your own thing. My wife & I visited Boston for the first time in Aug 2016, and took the Boston, Harvard, Lexington & Concord tour and the Coastal Maine – Kennebunkport tour. I highly recommend both. (Don't miss the Mount Autumn... More

My husband and I were visiting Boston for the sole purpose of learning more about the Revolutionary Wat. Our tour guide was David Johns and we couldn't have been more impressed! He customized our 6 hour tour to whatever we requested. David served in the British Military, so it was interesting to listen to his perspective. He was highly knowledgeable,... More

My wife and I were thrilled with our tour guide for our full day tour of Martha's Vineyard. Our guide was Svenja Steschke better know as Sven. Sven was originally from Germany and has lived in the Boston area for several years. Her English is flawless and she was super nice and very informative. She definitely made the trip worth... More

My two sons (ages 20 and 16) and I were thrilled with our tour guide for 3 separate day-trips. Our guide is older than they are but young enough where they related extremely well. Her name is Svenja Steschke and we called her "Sven". She has lived in Boston and its surrounding areas for many years. Her English was flawless... More

Michelle Hocking arranged three tours for us during our week in Boston. Each of our three tour guides were very knowledgable, pleasant and adaptable to our wishes. There were four of us: two grandparents, our daughter and our 9 year old grandson. We were primarily seeking an educational, fun experience for him We toured Boston, Cambridge, Lexington and Walden Pond... More

My husband and I chose private tours as the best way to see Boston for the first time. Booking the tours and the tours themselves were both professionally managed. David Johns was knowledgeable, accommodating, and attentive while taking us to multiple sites in Boston as well as Lexington and Concord the first day. The second day he took us to... More

We were able to schedule this tour one or two days prior. When I contacted the company via email, they responded promptly, with all the info that I needed. They were able to completely accommodate our party of 5, and the tour fit our desires exactly. David Johns was our guide. He made the experience very fun and informative.

I had to be in Boston for work, and decided to bring my 14 year-old and her friend with me. I arranged a private tour with Boston Private Tours to take them around Boston to learn about the fascinating city and history, as they were too young to go off on their own. Michelle was fabulous to work with as... More

We really enjoyed our daytrip to newport island, from pickup at the hotel to dropoff. The weather was sunny, david johns was friendly and knowledgeable, and the journey comfortable. Fortunately traffic was not too bad, as its over an hour to get there. The scenery is amazing, the mansions are grand and worth visiting (time permitting), and of course, a... More
