Wow! Talk about hateful!
Apr 2019
Asked one question which was answered politely. Second question was answered with venom spewing! An employee (volunteer? - can’t imagine her being paid with her attitude) not much older than myself was beyond rude! But something good came out of it - when visitors in our town ask for directions I jump in my vehicle and have them follow me to their destination. There is no excuse for the bad attitude! Get another gig if you can’t stand it! I could name the individual but won’t.

Great stop on the Freedom Trail
Oct 2019
This is where we started on our Freedom Trail walk. They have nice restrooms and a gift shop with very reasonable prices. A great meeting place.

Excellent place to start an organized tour
Sep 2019
Two cashiers will take payments for the guided walking tours, souvenir clothing, some snacks, and gifts. The "Freedom Trail Foundation" produces a great little booklet that gives a manageable amount of detail relating to the trail's highlights. Get that booklet here.

We bought our tour tickets here ($25.20) reduced fare and brought our receipts outside to give to our guide. We assume that is how he gets paid. Just a head's up: the 90 minute tour will only cover half of the trail and ends at the Faneuil Hall Information and Tourist Office. We assume an additional tour can be bought for this leg (we just walked it in our own).

This info office is right on the edge of the frog pond, near tadpole playground, and behind a huge tiered concrete fountain. Go in there to plan your excursions.

Good place to get maps and info
Aug 2019
The Boston Common Visitor Center is a good place to start the Freedom Trail. The trail starts right outside. The visitor center has lots of area brochures and maps. Maps for the Freedom Trail are not free. Helpful guides are available to help plan your route or answer questions.
There is a public restroom here. It was pretty clean.

Great service at the Boston Common Vistor Center
Sep 2019
This was our first trip to Boston and we wanted to start with the Freedom Trail. We received excellent service from Anna and Marina at the Visitor Center. They were extremely helpful in guiding us through the points of interest on the Trail and how to download the Freedom Trail app to our phones. If you are interested in the history of Boston this is a great place to start!

Freedom Trail in Boston
Sep 2019 • Business
This is where you start the freedom trail. Many local visitors and foreign tourists come here to book a walking tour with a local tour guide. Or you can get a map from visitor centre and so your own walk. It is easy to do as they mark the trail by 2 rows of red bricks on the pavement. Or follow the crowd - seems like everyone is on the trail. Must do when in Boston.

Help with Hotel booking
Aug 2019
We went to the Center to get help with a hotel transfer as we had been unable get much sleep in our downtown hotel because of noise.

Not only was the perfect (and not too expensive) Charlestown hotel recommended, the very charming advisor spent a lot of time, on line and finally with the telephone, to complete the booking process for two incommpetent Brits.

Mediocre walking tour
Jun 2019 • Couples
Our costume guide appeared knowledgeable, but there were way too many people in the group (40+). We moved at a snails pace, and it was difficult to hear. I regret we did book one of the many highly rated small group tours available online.

The start of the trail
Dec 2018 • Couples
You start the freedom trail here. It’s super tiny but has a bathroom for the start, I recommend going as there’s not a lot of public restrooms along the trail.

Beginning Of The Freedom Trail!
Oct 2018 • Family
If you are looking to walk The Freedom Trail through Boston, I recommend starting here rather than in Bunker Hill. The Visitor Center in Boston Common has maps and folks to help you!
