This is a great place to go for the day with family for a pick-nick, to lay in the sun or just explore with friends. Fort Warren has some great history and they have been restoring it over the years, so more and more is...More

Very beautiful island filled with lots of history. Fort Warren was cool to explore! The ferry ride was very refreshing on a hot day.

Don't miss one of Boston's best kept secrets - easily accessible harbor islands with great history and beach amenities. A fantastic day trip for families

We went to spectacle island and george island. We didn't stay for very long at Spectacle Island. The ferry trip was nice. We got some great views of the city. Our announcer may have been a little drunk. He was definitely incoherent to say the...More

We loved our time on the islands; it was a bit crowded but all in all an enjoyable location to hike. The ferry ride did not take too long; the sights of the city from the water, and then from the island were memorable.

Is there anywhere to stay on the islands. We are coming from England in the summer and wanted a few days somewhere quiet on arrival - we tried mill falls to the north but everything is full. Any ideas of somewhere perhaps less rammed by the tourist hordes? All recommendations gratefully accepted.
