Enjoy an outing on one of the most scenic sections of urban river in the country. An experience on the Charles River from our Boston location in Allston/Brighton is a wonderful respite from the surrounding city, with parkland on both shores and rowers plying the waters. Head downstream and you'll encounter local colleges (Harvard, M.I.T., and B.U.) and eventually the Esplanade (a great picnic spot!) and the unforgettable Boston skyline. This nine-mile stretch of river has no current, allowing painless round trips. However, renters can also enjoy one-way trips to or from our Cambridge location in Kendall Square — a unique way to see the city!

My dad and I had a blast on the Charles River. The folks were fast and friendly...and made renting very easy. We rented a dry bag for $1 to keep our items dry. We are experienced kayakers and the kayaks, life jackets and paddles were of very good quality. I highly recommend this as a great way to see the... More

For the last four years we have been kayaking on the Charles and it's one of our favorite Boston experiences. Our family (teenagers included) often come and bring friends. We enjoy it at 10am, after work, on weekends, whenever. We even got a flotilla together (adults, teens and grandparents) for the July 4th fireworks spectacular and it was simply stellar... More

We did a one way from Harvard Square to Cambridge...2 single kayaks and a double ran us over $100 for an hour. It was an enjoyable way to see MIT and parts of the city. Staff was excellent and had a safety quiz for us when it was over. Arrived by the T and left by Uber. They have dry... More

We're in Cambridge for the first time and thought it would be fun to kayak on the Charles. We had a very nice time and the staff at the Charles River Canoe And Kayak were very nice and helpful! My daughter rented a paddle board and I kayaked. It is a very nice Wai to see Cambridge. I would definitely... More

We went into to the city with our two you d children and had passed by this on our way in and decided to stop. Had a great time and only $20 for all 4 of us in one canoe. Well organized and quick and efficient getting us in the water. We were pretty experienced but I could see where... More

Incredible to see Boston from the water. It was busy on a Saturday but the line moves quickly. Remember to sign the waiver first and then get in the line for getting your kayak or paddle board. You pay after you return your kayak. Getting a dry bag is worth it to keep your things dry. You will definitely get... More

Great experience. We ended up doing the Boston Allston Brighton location on a Sunday afteroon. It was busy but the staff was efficient and we got out on the water quickly. YOu can take a left on the water to see more nature or a right to see more of the city; we went right and what a wonderful way... More

We had a great time on the water. We did the one-way option and for 4 people renting 2 double kayaks it came out to around $25 a person. We did the trip in 1.5 hours and were very surprised to see that they only charged us for 1.5 hours instead of 2. The customer service was great, the employees... More

This was different from most kayaking experiences that I have had in that there were boats. A LOT of boats. I guess they do sailing lessons for children in the same area, so there were a ton of little sailboats with little wannabe sailors. It turned out that no one hit us, but I can't say that the thought didn't... More
