One of my favourites ever! It has a great view and lots of benches, both in the shade and in the sun. Just take a book and you'll be set. Public restrooms are available, but - unfortunately - not very clean. There's one restaurant, but I didn't visit it. There's a small beach, but it's mostly just a park. I've... More

Castle Island has had a Ford on it sounds the mid-1700s when the British fort existed there. Ever sense the mood has been used during the revolutionary end Civil War. It was home to the United States public health services first hospital. It has a 2 mile and circumference walkway around a tidal Pool in which there is paddle boarding... More

I visited several times during my stay in Boston, but the fort never seemed to be open. There we hundreds of people around on the weekend, but they didn't seem to be doing much.

This is a nice quiet place to walk. The sun seems to hit Castle Island perfectly and there seems always to be a slight breeze. There is a restaurant there that is bustling by 11:30 so if you or going with a group and want lunch, get there early.

Spent 3 days in Boston in early Aug. with my adult son and 12 year old grand daughter. Had to take her to Castle Island to swim where her Nana and Dad swam as kids. The playground is great for smaller kids. The beach is just as I remember it from the 1950s and 70s. Evidently lifeguards come on duty... More

A wonderful place to walk, look for sea glass, watch the planes land, see some history. A gem right in the middle of the city.

We had our marketing department picnic here last summer. It was the first time I was there. What a jewel. A wonderful fort to explore, sights of the harbor and ships coming and going. Plus you can see Logan. There are some swing sets and other play areas for kids as well as a beach for swimming.
