- Travel_Buff_BL258 contributionsAmazing! The best way to get from Logan to various places in the cityWow! I was a bit tentative about this, but it was fantastic. Everything was communicated quite clearly, easy to book online, easy to find the shuttle, great communication with the skipper. The boat was right there, and easy as pie -- a very quick jaunt across from Logan to the wharf and my hotel. So easy, so cheap, such great views, so friendly. Wow! Do it!!Visited April 2024Traveled soloWritten May 1, 2024
- Steve SArlington, Tennessee90 contributionsBest transfer in BostonWe had an 8 hr layover in Boston and decided to see the town. An ordinary drive would be at least 50 min to downtown. We booked this transfer and we were in downtown in about 7 minutes. They stored our luggage for us as we walked Boston. Then they pucked us up earlier than our scheduled pickup with a simple call. Best money ypu will spend.Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 24, 2024
- Steve PStuart, Florida10 contributionsBest way to travel to Logan airport. We really enjoyed our recent boat ride on the water taxi from the cruise terminal to Rowe’s Wharf and then to Logan Airport. We were picked up on time, we were able to store our luggage for a couple of hours while we walked around Boston, and then we were given a 2nd ride to Logan airport via the water taxi. The drivers were very friendly and helped us load and unload our luggage. We highly recommend this rather than sitting in traffic trying to get to Logan.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 3, 2024
- BenLa Canada Flintridge, California6 contributionsPost cruise option for late flightWe had a 4:20 PM flight post cruise, instead of using their cruise special which requires you to walk 0.3 miles to their docking place, we took a taxi right outside the terminal to Rowes Wharf. A short walk to the dock from the street, met one of the crew members and gave him our luggage to store and booked the 1 PM ride. Make sure you talk to someone on the phone before you're going there because the office usually has no one there. We prebooked ours, the person actually called me. Rowes Wharf is near downtown, short walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. A nice way to spend a few hours in Boston instead of waiting in the airport. Deduct 1 star because while waiting in the office (share with 2 or 3 other companies) we saw a group of people sitting at the back of the office started to leave, not sure whether they were taking the same boat with us, I went out to see where they were going. Sure enough they were boarding. No one came to tell us it's boarding time, I needed to find out on my own. Quite efficient, all the luggages were already loaded on board. The ride itself was peaceful. After we docked, the 2 crew members unloaded all the luggages. Picked up your luggage and walked up the ramp to take the shuttle to the airport. Interestingly, the bus driver dropped us off at the arrival level. All and all, it's a good decision to take the water taxi and utilized their storage service instead of waiting at the airport for hours.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 5, 2024
- Lisa HNorwich, United Kingdom13 contributionsCruise pick up made easy!We finished our cruise early morning in Boston and our flight wasn’t until 10pm. We booked the cruise ship special, they picked us up at 10am, a short walk (less than 10 mins and flat terrain for suitcases!) from the cruise terminal and took us to Rowes wharf where they stored our luggage for the day. We agreed a time to be taken to the airport later that day, you get dropped off at the airport shuttle stop which takes you to your terminal (for free!) such a stress free way of spending our last day in Boston! Took a water taxi across the harbor in Boston on a recent Saturday (6/4/2022). The app was not working on my phone but the boat driver assured me I could pay on board. The boat driver charged me $1,050.00 for a $45.00 fare and the company has not refunded me. The only people you can contact are City Experience customer representatives, but they would not give me the contact information of the team who look into over charges such as this. I had to send them an email detailing my trip and sending a bank statement. BEWARE. Use Boston Water Taxi instead (another company). If you use this service, buy a ticket on the app ahead of time or better yet, pay with cash.

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor and had no problems going from the hotel to Downtown Boston by water taxi. Access was right out the hotel's back door. The friendly captain was apologetic because of our delayed pickup that was out of his control and I arrived at my destination without any issues.
What was a concern was my return trip. My return was a night and day experience from the morning. The return cranky captain identified the ticket I purchased from the Hyatt was not going to be honored and it would be $20 one way. Didn't know if the captain was having a bad day or not but I was not happy.

What I liked about this was the personable nature of the guys and the convenience. We flew into Boston and planned to walk the city until that evening. No need for us to rent a car until later in the day but we needed to store our luggage somewhere (the airport doesn't have lockers anymore). These guys gave us a ride from the airport across the harbor and kept our luggage for us for a small price. Very personable and worked with us on times and picking us up.

Made plans around their 30 minute tour. Called and said he will be 5 min. Waited 20min and said he would be 5 more min. Waiting another 20min and he wouldn’t answer the phone. Just kept hitting end on the call. Then I got through and he goes he can’t do it and then hung up the phone.
I would not recommend as time is valuable when on vacation. You wait 20min just coordinating pick up locations even if they do come.

We thought we'd do this to surprise the kids. Really was enjoyable and the two-person crew was very personable and helpful. Probably a 20 minute ride with a couple stops for other folks to get off. Really an interesting vantage point to see the other boat traffic and the Boston skyline. We were dropped us off right at the dock by our hotel. Very nice experience and highly recommended. The only downside was the wait for the airport bus from the terminal to the dock. Took a long time to pick us up and a long time, with stops, to get us to the dock.

Booked the cruise ship option rather than spend 8 hours at Logan airport. Everything worked out as advertised - met us at the end of the terminal (10 min walk from the ship), took us downtown, stored the luggage and took us back to the wharf at Logan with our luggage. Then took the free shuttle bus to the terminal.
Highly recommended!

The Water Taxi offered a quick, fun approach to downtown Boston (we were staying near Faneuil Hall, so we could easily walk to our hotel). We used the airport bus that circulates between the terminals and were dropped a few steps from the dock. There was a boat/taxi waiting and we were in downtown Boston in 10 minutes (I would have been happier if it took a little longer; the view was great). It cost $15 each.

Left us high and dry after making us wait 40 min. Said to call office for a refund. Office said they would refund with no apology given and then check statement and no refund provided. Called back and they went off on profanity laced rant saying make them.

Am in Boston and want to tour Harvard. Can I take a water taxi over?
Written September 19, 2019
I'm not sure - I would call the water taxi or look online for their routes. Enjoy your tour of Harvard! The Red House is a cute place for lunch - just off Harvard square. See my review and pictures!
Written September 19, 2019
I am not sure. The water taxi was large enough to accommodate a wheelchair but I do not remember seeing a ramp. I would contact the water taxi company.

We have a very long layover in Boston so we can explore for a few hours. I’ve heard there is locker storage while using the water taxi from the airport. Does anyone know how large the lockers are or the cost?
Written March 25, 2019
I'm sorry but I am unable to answer this question. My husband and I did not require these services as we had luggage and were staying in Boston for several days. I am not sure how large the lockers are or what they cost.

Coming in on a cruise ship at Black Falcon cruise terminal. Where can I pick up the water taxi to go to the USS Constitution?

We are wanting to take a Fast Ferry from Boston to Provincetown at 8:00AM and take the returning ferry at 3:00PM to put is back at the dock of BHC at 4:30PM. Our flight departs at 5:40PM, and we were considering hopping on a water taxi right when we got off the BHC fast ferry to get to the airport in time. Is this feasible? Do these run on time? Is the bus ride from the dock to the airport terminal fast?
Written August 15, 2018
It is fast but that might be too early in the morning. Check on their operating hours on the Boston Transit website

HI Barbara We are travelling to USA from Australia in 2018. We will arrive at Logan Airport, Boston and intend staying on a houseboat B & B at Pier 8. Does the water taxi travel from Logan Airport to Pier 8 direct or do you have to change at some other wharf before Pier 8?? Which company did you use and what was the cost?? Thank you. Denis C
Written October 21, 2017
When you make reservations, you can tell the Water Taxi where you'd like to go. Depending on who else is riding and where they want to go, you could be taken directly to PIer 8 or to Pier 8 after a few stops. We were lucky and went direct--both to and from the harbor. I don't remember the exact cost, but it wasn't that much. I believe less than $20 one way per adult. Hope that helps!

Does anyone know if luggage is stored in a climate controlled area?
Written August 18, 2017
The storage area is a small luggage room at the back of the ticket office. No climate control that I saw!

7 hour layover at Boston Logan. Can we take the water taxi to somewhere to have lunch, a short walk to stretch our legs before the flight to Dublin and take it back to the airport? Arriving around 11am on a Friday! Will this be possible without worrying about timing and standing in security lines? Thanks
Written July 23, 2017
Absolutely. Take it across the harbor where there are numerous restaurants. You can still be back with time to spare
Written July 24, 2017
Hello!
I have a 4 hour layover in Boston, do you think the water taxi is a good option?
Thanks,
Kelly
Written September 27, 2016
Sorry for the delay. I like the water taxi because they'll store your luggage for you. That was the best perk of all...I didn't have to haul my stuff around the whole time.
Written October 3, 2016
Yeah it's just a taxi service. You pay for each ride.
