We need to always fund and support these venues. The place was ready for travelers. Personal needs stations were available Inside and outside the building.

Even when visitor center is not fully open, there are nice trails to walk on and enjoy close by. There is such a lovely drive as well.

This entire area is beautiful and worth your time to go experience and see. Views are gorgeous and scenic, haze can be obstructive of your sight lines.

I have lived in Asheville for 25 years and always recommend that my friends and guests check out the Visitors Center. In addition to a sweet gift shop and impressive displays of the many things that make this area a TOP DESTINATION - there is a movie that plays all day long on the hour. I could watch it a hundred times (and probably have!) It just warms and fills the heart with all the beautiful and spectacular reasons why Asheville and WNC is so amazing - and is a great education on all the things you may want to do and experience while visiting. Additionally, there are extensive trails you can take a short or long hike on... there is even a trail connecting the Folk Art Center with the Visitors Center. If you have been traveling and or have a dog - it is great to pause here and move around a bit. This is definitely a happy place for me - makes me proud!

The inside is closed, but they have a ranger outside to answer questions along with information tables and plenty of brochures outside. Bathrooms are available at the other end of the parking lot.
