I did the 5-mile self-guided tour of the French Broad in Brevard. Their were two other creeks running into the river, one of which was a beautiful sandy bottom with clear water for wading & taking a break before the end. My guide was Steve, and he joined me at the end of the paddle to show me the creek entrance. The customer service was excellent, easy to book online, guide was knowledgeable and informative, and communication to find the location and contact for help were great. I highly suggest this southern portion of the FB River as it is much less crowded, very peaceful, and has more shade/tree cover.
