About
Lexington Glassworks, located in the heart of downtown Asheville, NC, was born out of the desire to create timeless and innovative hand-blown glass. Each piece is skillfully crafted using century old techniques and locally sourced material with the singular goal of creating top-notch work. The gallery features high quality custom lighting and handmade glass for any budget. Lexington Glassworks is a makers studio where the public is invited to view the artists at work. While here take the unique opportunity to enjoy a locally crafted beer, this is truly an Asheville experience. Note: We do not blow glass on Tuesdays.

My favorite thing at Dollywood, TN is watching the glassblowers, so I knew I had to add Lexington to my Asheville itinerary! I wasn't disappointed. Lexington is a little off the path from downtown, so you could drive (I think they had parking), but we walked.

You walk into a large warehouse-style building with beautiful glasswork everywhere. It's the only place we went on our trip that made us sanitize our hands (appreciated). At the back of the building is where the actual glassblowing happens. There was a red line and plexiglass barrier between viewers and workers. You still were able to see and hear what they were doing. They also had an FAQ hung up that was interesting and informative.

My only "complaint" is that there was no seating, and we definitely stood there for 15 minutes or more. Doesn't seem that ADA-friendly. I'm sure COVID is to blame.

If you have any interest in glass or crafts, stop by Lexington for a bit!

If you are into glass art, a trip to Lexington Glassworks needs to be on your list. An easy walk down hill from the main downtown shopping area of Asheville. The showroom is spacious and has a lot of pieces on display at various price points. The workshop is in the back and you can view the art being created which is interesting to be sure. My guess is that the experience was more interactive pre-COVID and that this may change back over time.

We had a difficult time deciding what NOT to purchase because so much of what they are creating here is absolutely stunning. We walked away with 3 pieces and are probably wishing we had purchased a 4th. Definitely recommend a visit.

If you enjoy beautiful blown glass pieces, then this is a place worth visiting. The staff are polite whether you are buying or just enjoying the beauty, as we did. Though there was no formal glass blowing demonstration at the time, the glass blowers were at work and you could watch as long as you pleased.

Our extended family visited during the holidays and spent a nice 30 minutes watching a demo and then browsing the shop. The items are beautiful and some of the smaller items are reasonably priced @$25 or so. There are also some very high end bowls, vases and such.

Thank you so much for the great review! We love sharing our passion with others and hope that people gain a better appreciation for artists and artwork when they watch the glassblowing process. It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed perusing our glass gallery. We specialize in one of a kind glass and custom lighting and our artists work hard to make beautiful and unique pieces using a variety of glassblowing and cold-working techniques. Thank you again for taking the time to write a review and we hope you will visit us again soon!

Very cool to see them create a piece of blown glass art. This is a small store attached to the glass working area-- you can book an experience to try it with a professional. Beautiful creations available to buy

What a fun side visit in Asheville! My wife and I stumbled across it while brewery hopping and thought we'd take a peek in since we saw a dozen or more people in there. We got to see a live demo from behind a plexiglass shield which was great from a distance perspective, but also to block the heat. Very warm in the hot shop (obviously). Got to see the glass blowers make a few whiskey decanters and glasses during our half hour walk through. We just finished watching Blown Away on Netflix last week so we had a great time pointing out the various tools and glass art styles. Very expensive works, but the work is very well done and there's a lot of technique that goes into each piece.

Watching these artists take molten glass and form it into glasses, vases, lamps, light fixtures and all sorts of things is just unbelievable. It is can easily become an obsession. We spent an hour watching and almost missed our reservations for early dinner with friends. Seriously, it is hard to tear yourself away.

It was amazing to see all of the things that were available to sell and to see, even though each was hand made, how similar to each other things like goblets and whiskey glasses were. We just had to have a “few” things, notwithstanding that our vehicle was already overloaded with “things”.

We made our purchases and were flabbergasted about the care the staff gave to each item. We made it home 5 days 700 miles later and nary a “thing” was injured.

We strongly suggest you stop in and watch for a while and make sure you set an alarm because once you start watching you will want to stay until you see the finished item!

This is a working glass studio and salesroom. Most days you can see the artists working the glass to create a wide aray of glass art. The no pressure friendly salesperson did not interfere wile you walked around the studio. Very varied glass art is created here. If you like glass do not miss. Hope this helps.

This place is amazing, beautiful work and craftsmanship. It is also a great place to let the kiddo's watch as the art pieces are created. It really gives an appreciation for the skill, time, creativity that goes into each piece.

We always take out of town guests to Lexington Ave. Glassworks to watch the artists blowing glass. We like the work so much that Lex. Glass just created for us a gorgeous dining room chandelier and three pendants for over the
kitchen island. It all looks wonderful.
