My wife and I went on a hot air balloon ride with Addison for our anniversary and had a lot of fun! Addison was a fabulous pilot who really took care of us in the air. The views were spectacular over western Asheville and the ride was gentle. We both had a great time, both with Addison and the other passengers. I would absolutely recommend Balloons Over Asheville if you're in the area or interested. Thanks Addison!

Had a great experience with Balloons over Asheville this morning! We had a group of 10 and they accommodated everyone. The service was good, and we had a great trip. It was a clear morning and our captain (Addison) was wonderful. There was another full balloon that took off at the same time so it was really cool to see them ascend and descend to understand what ours looked like. Great fun helping to put the balloon up and take it down. Highly recommend!

The sunrise balloon flight was a surprise for my 60th from my daughter and daughter-in-law. We met Addison from Balloons over Asheville at 5:45 a.m. at Cracker Barrel. He drove us to the take-off point. We got to see how they inflated the balloon and connected the basket, it was amazing. The crew was very efficient and Addison, our pilot, was great! The view of the mountains with fog as the sun rose was absolutely breathtaking! After about an hour, we landed at a business near AB Tech and watched, and helped, as they took the balloon down. FABULOUS EXPERIENCE! I would definitely do it again! Balloons over Asheville is a total class act and more than worth doing!

What could be better than a quiet balloon flight over the autumn foliage of North Carolina? That was our dream. Of course, such a thing is quite weather dependent and, luckily, BOA is very safety conscious. Regrettably, they had to cancel our flight, due to poor flying conditions. The great news: BOA is very safety conscious,they keep in close touch with you and, if you can't fly due to weather, they issue you an immediate refund. No worries with this plan and, believe me, we are going back to experience the real thing!!

This was my wife's and I first time in the balloon. We both are scared of heights and Addison our pilot made us feel very comfortable. Very friendly and personable. Such a wonderful and memorable activity to experience. Highly recommend.

So you get up early, meet at the Starbucks and are transported to a field where the crew sets up the balloon. They will allow you to help as instructed by your pilot. Our first day we were not able to fly. This was disappointing but we truly respect this company for ensuring our safety throughout the entire process. We learned some interesting things about hot air ballooning that morning. We rescheduled for the next day and the set up went perfectly. We were in the air floating over the mountains in a short period of time. Let me tell you, IT was AMAZING! The mountains, the beautiful sky and the green valleys. OH my, it was almost a religious experience! If you have ever even considered this or if its on your bucket list, as it was on mine, please book with Balloonsoverasheville. Of course it is scarey to try something new, but the pilot Addison and crew all make you feel comfortable with their expertise and you will be delighted with the experience!

Thank you Balloons Over Ashevile for an experience of a lifetime! Addison was an awesome pilot, informative and what a smooth take off and landing. We always felt safe and the views were magnificent! We recommend Balloons Over Ashevile for your next adventure!

About three years ago we had tried doing a hot air balloon ride in the Asheville area with a different company. We live a little more than an hour away so we stayed the night the first time but found out the following morning that it was no-go. We drove the next time only to find out after arriving about 30-45 minutes later, it was another bad day for flying.
When booking again, I "accidentally" picked this company because they had good reviews online. I really am glad I did. They let you know the night before by email whether the weather looks good or not. Yes, we could still pay for a hotel and/or make the drive to find out, the weather changed, but it is so much nicer to get the email. The spring and fall are the times that the weather is the most unstable so they are more likely to be cancelled (fog, wind, rain/storm, etc). The summer is the best time. However, we still made the trip and had some issues with wind where we had even got in the basket of the balloon and the surface winds were crazy, so our pilot (Addison - who has been flying balloons for several decades and is a great pilot) decided to cancel. We agreed. We would rather have a safe ride than die....duh! ;)
We ended up going back the following weekend, and it was a GO! Finally! I thought maybe it wasn't in the stars for me to ever ride in a hot air balloon. Ha! It wasn't "thrilling" like I thought it might be, but still was so serene (not scary at all!) and delightful and of course the views were amazing. We live in beautiful country!
The landing was very gentle even though he had prepared us for a possible bounce. Everything was wonderful. I don't have a "bucket list" per se but there are some things in life I want to do. This was one of them. It was wonderful and while yes, it is expensive, we came to understand it takes several people to set up the balloon, take it down, and then there's the transport of the balloon and people, oh, and the $$$$$$$ cost of the balloon itself. It was worth it to my family.
We wholeheartedly recommend Balloons Over Asheville, and I really liked our pilot, Addison! Balloon baskets can hold anywhere from around 4 people to 20 so grab some friends and experience it. Or go alone - there were a few people on their own who had just always wanted to do it. The ride itself is a little over an hour to about an hour and a half.

What a forever memory! This was our third attempt to go up and the weather this morning was incredible. We had a large group but never felt crowded and the experience was so peaceful. When you have 14 people and no one is saying a word - something spiritual is happening. Addition was certainly an amazing pilot and his ground crew did such a great job. Thank you BOA for helping us celebrate our “On Top of the World” 40th Anniversary. The Halls.

What a magical experience! It was a great opportunity. The driver did a great job guiding us through the landing process and the views were just amazing. Worth it.

What time would we have to leave Gatlinburg to make the morning ride. ? Do they take off at 6,7,8, or 9:00 in the morning ? I see that it's a 2 1/2 hr drive from Gat. To Asheville .

The staff of BOA are the best resource for this detailed question-departure times are based on sunrise time and morning weather....even take-off location can very to get the most out of air and geography. They were great about being clear and timely with communicating this important information. We got text updates the day before and confirmation the same morning.

Depends on what you want! A larger balloon can hold more people so the per person price is less. We paid a little more than $200 per person...but imagine that costs could go up from there. Our situation was not normal...others on the balloon pulled out ...that almost never happens...
