Bummer

One of the beavers was rabid, and bit someone, so the lake is closed... It's beautiful to look at, though!

I find Beaver Lake a lovely neighborhood park, small lake and bird sanctuary and enjoy stopping by for a quiet moment, or even just driving by on any side of the lake. Beaver Lake is private, but the public can enjoy most of it. The recent incident (July 2016) of the eponymous beaver, which tests showed was rabid, attacking and... More

Tranquil and a favorite neighborhood spot that is well used and enjoyed each day by locals. Runners, walkers, and lake use. Dogs walkers pay small fee.

Lake view park resident's let the public use this lake to run, enjoy the scenery and fish. There are signs posted everywhere that you must have a permit for your dogs, to boat and to fish. If you see the signs and still think you can break the rules then yes the warden that is hired by the commission will... More

This is a "private" lake owned by the neighborhood to the North of the lake. There are many, many rules and you must have licenses for everything! It is beautiful though on a crisp fall afternoon and there is a lovely boardwalk at the east end of the lake with a parking area.

We go here very often to run around the lake and watch the wildlife. It is a private lake but anyone is allowed to run and walk there. If you have a dog you are required to have a permit or you may have to leave.

Nice lake to walk, jog or stroll around. May have rental canoes and close to bird sanctuary, so easy to walk from one to,the other.

If you're looking for something to do that has water, scenery, room, boating, places to sit, walking trails - Beaver Lake is your place. I go there a lot of times just to relax and see lots of wonderful dogs. Beaver Lake is right next to Bird Santuary

I am a birder, and the lake was the #1 site for birds according to ebird.org. This is probably because it is heavily birded and is the biggest stretch of open water in the area. I heard (mostly) and saw (some) a variety of birds, but nothing exciting. There is a trail and boardwalk, but like most natural areas in... More

Nice walking trails take you around the lake and along an elevated boardwalk through a bird sanctuary for up close nature viewing. The park was beautiful, uncrowded, peaceful and relaxing.

Read 2 reviews that were praising Billy Jenkins the lake Warden. I posted one of the reviews regarding Mr.Jenkins negative customer service interactions. I wanted to let you know that my encounter with him as a female was horrific. I was genuinely excited to enjoy the lake and pay any related fees. It was frightening at how quickly he verbally and non verbally escalated when I asked for clarification and assistance with understanding how to correctly use the lake. It's so wonderful that the lake is open to the public. It would be helpful to have Mr. Jenkins be consistently professional and courteous to ALL folks who visit the lake. I understand that experiences by property owners or local Asheville users has been positive. However, an unassuming tourist who visits the first time who wants to enjoy the area should have the same experience as you all do every time you see Mr.Jenkins. Folks who encounter him to receive clarification and who aren't owners or locals that grew up with him have a very different experience. Please don't downplay that. It's clearly documented in the reviews. I was 30 seconds away from calling Asheville PD on the day of my incident because I believed him capable of pushing me out of his office. I am sure you wouldn't want any female relative of yours to feel that way if they were visiting another city park in a different state. The local folks having all of these POSITIVE experiences with Billy shouldn't post these just to redirect and distract from the fact that Billy is harassing tourists. Tourists need to know prior to visiting.
