Charming little theatre!
Jul 2019
I really enjoy this little theatre. I do wish concessions had more options but I really enjoy the small theatre experience so I'll keep going.

Great film experience
Nov 2019
We were fortunate to happen on a showing of "Fantastic Fungi" on our two day trip to Asheville. We love seeing films in this art theater. Even afternoon showings are always almost or totally full with a great audience that is very engaged--and the films are good. This was no exception. If you are in town, but sure to check out what is playing. It is right next door to the Blue Spiral Gallery, and lots of other galleries, restaurants etc. are just a short walk away.

Great old school movie theater
Sep 2019 • Couples
Went to see Downton Abby at this old school theater after being in the Biltmore Mansion all day.... service was friendly and concessions were reasonable priced... inside was a retro trip of the childhood movie theater I remembered.... well maintained but stairs are the only way up to see anything playing upstairs theater

Clean with comfortable seating!
Aug 2019
All of the staff interactions were wonderful. They were polite and accommodating. The place didn't really have the old time-e feel on the inside but that's ok because ok because the theatre was clean and comfortable!

FAT Is Where It's At

We thoroughly enjoyed our movie here. There's an Old Hollywood feel, and the staff is friendly. They tend to show an artsier style of movie than the bigger theaters do. We saw (and loved) The Farewell, a lower budget film set mainly in China and with subtitles throughout, when we couldn't find it at the Biltmore Grande. Save your receipt for half off your dessert at the nearby and excellent Chestnut restaurant.

A great theatre for seeing smaller independent films
Jul 2019 • Couples
Since we were spending several days in Asheville, we took advantage of the fact that “Pavarotti” was playing here and were very glad that we did. The old fashioned theatre is very comfortable and totally ideal for this type of exceptional movie.

$5 Tuesdays are great.

Fine Arts is a wonderful moviehouse that shows independent films. Save your ticket and enjoy 1/2 off a dessert at Chestnut next door or go down to the City Bakery, enjoy a coffee and discuss the movie.

Great Fun!
Oct 2018 • Couples
This little theatre is fantastic for those movies that might not otherwise be seen in big box theaters. Or at least they can be seen here sooner than the big box places. I love the intimacy and the people working there are friendly. Not sure if there is an elevator so if steps are out of the question call them first.

Last minute movie
Dec 2018 • Friends
What a wonderfully quaint little theater. We were unable to go to the National Gingerbread Contest due to there being too many people. We walked to this little theater to see an independent film. The staff was welcoming and helpful, they had an extensive selections of snacks and drinks. What a delight.

Cute Theater in the heart of Asheville
Dec 2018 • Couples
This theater lives up to its name, showing indie and small circulation features. it is fun-somewhat of a throwback, with a great selection of beer and two tier, comfortable seats. The prices are a nice surprise too if you are (sadly) used to spending $15 to see a film. A somewhat hidden gem.
