The center of what could be a really cute and nice downtown area is this nasty little park. The fact that this area is filled with homeless, graffiti, and trash really takes away from the nice restaurants and cute boutiques surrounding the park. We did not feel safe waiting outside the restaurant for a table. Ended up backing ourselves up into a store window in order to stay away from the park and the people in the park.

What happened to downtown Asheville? Pritchard park has been trashed every time I have visited and getting worse every day. Asheville downtown needs a stronger police presence to improve quality of life.

Extremely entertaining. A must see. We went there and listened to synchronized drumming from about 60 - 70 local and visiting drummers. Local culture galore. All are invited to participate in their own way.

Our grandson had fun drumming with one of the kids. There were about 30 drums and maybe 100 watchers. The kids were also drawing with chalk on the concrete. A few people were dancing to the drumming. Nearby were several police cars for security.
