I love this group… Not only did we see almost 70 different plants in the field and were able to collect and identify them, but we learned how they were used traditionally and in the modern kitchen. Learning about plants is not easy, so I photographed every using a paper bag as a common background… And then turned it into... More

I went on this tour with my son, who is a hobbyist forager. Honestly I was skeptical of the whole thing, but wanted my son to have some guidance before venturing further into foraging. There are not many experiences out there like this to be found, and I am truly fortunate to have fallen into this particular tour. First off... More

Loved Becky’s (our guide's) color commentary. Super skilled at un-complicating identifying characteristics, has patience and panache.

The tour made a fun and interesting day of being outdoors and learning what nature has to offer. Even got to sample lots of wild foods. We definitely will do this tour again in another season if we come back to Asheville.

Abby led a great trip through the forest. You don't know where you're going until the night before, and the directions to our site were explicit and accurate, as we could not have found the site otherwise. We learned about edible leaves, roots, mushrooms, etc. and had a chance to taste many of these. We gathered lots of greens and... More

Informative saunter in the woods filled with edibles every step of the way. Leaders welcomed all questions about plants and provided details on the edible and folk wisdom of each plant. Glad I made the trip from Knoxville, TN! Looking forward to using what I learned.

On Oct first we went to Pisgah Forest with Becky and learned some things about foraging and history. Visiting a natural area is always fun but having a guide that can point out some lesser known things and fix a quick snack is special. We came with three children, the youngest almost three and everyone was very patient. I'm not... More

Wow, what a great experience! I couldn't recommend this more. So informative and fun, we ended up collecting so many mushrooms and learned tons about them thanks to our knowledgable, kind, and fun guides. The location we collected in was beautiful and the mushrooms cooked up soooo tasty! If your in the area, do it! Make sure you stay for... More
