While we had a great time learning about different edible plants and mushrooms in the forests around Asheville, I regret to say that this tour is not worth $75 a person. I had assumed there would be more tastings at the end but instead we were given a cracker with some cooked mushroom on top. We did very much enjoy our tour, and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. But I just can't see where the value is for the price they are currently charging.

Truly espectacular experience, learn so much about recognizing and picking the right leaves, roots and mushrooms.
Justin was exceptional, his knowledge was incredible.
Just amazing to be able to walk on the forest and pick the right mushrooms then go to the Aux restaurant in downtown Asheville and chefs Mitch and Gaven will cook a delicious meal using only your ingredients you picked up an hour earlier.

I am 51 and did this tour with my daughters/granddaughter 30 year old, 13 year old and 7 year old. We all had a great time. It is expensive, but you get a lot for your money. The tour wasn't too strenuous ad we had some time on our own to search for mushrooms, which felt like an Easter Egg Hunt! We brought our find back to our guide and she sifted through them all removing any poisonous mushrooms and sharing her knowledge. "When in doubt, throw it out," was the guiding principle, but we did learn a lot. We learned about flowers, trees, and other kinds of plants. It was so interesting. Afterwards, we got to sample what we collected. They set up a camp stove and cooked it up. It was delicious! But the best part was bringing our collection to the Market Place restaurant and having an out-of-this-world delicious appetizer!!! Great experience all around. I highly recommend.

Hannah and Christian are knowledgeable about all things edible in the forest and their style is easy and fun. Our group of 10 adults enjoyed the walk through the woods, learning which flowers are edible and how to spot a Morrell mushroom. Hannah then did a cooking demonstration that we followed with taking our treasures to The Bull and Beggar where the chefs came up with a delicious starter dish for us to share. A great experience overall!

Dimitri and Hanna did an excellent job covering identifying wild-growing spring greens and also pointing out look-alikes. They offered excellent suggestions on using the foraged items and prepared a tasting of them in the filed. Our only wish is that the outing was a little longer in length.

I never knew. Food always either came from the market, or from what we planted in the garden, I never viewed food as growing everywhere around us. It certainly sparked an interest to retain what I learned as well as motivate me to want to learn more.

My wife and I explored Ashville for a week for our anniversary. We did a ton of fun things but No Taste Like Home was one of our highlight moments! It was so fun learning about the local edibles, hearing the history, and eating our findings. We brought our foraged foods to marketplace restaurant and enjoyed a delicious appetizer from them. Would highly recommend!

Thank you so much! We are so glad you enjoyed your time with us and that you were able to enjoy your forage-to-table wild appetizer, we think it is a really great way to get a true "taste" of Asheville :) Hope to see you again!

Loved this tour. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the different edible plants and berries. Then we had the option of taking our findings to a restaurant the company works with and they made a delicious meal. Overall I would highly recommend this tour

We had a blast. Jillian was awesome guide. We found lots of yummy and unusual treats along the way. What a unique experience we look forward to seeing what the Chef can whip up with spicy bush twigs, red bud flower and chick weed or onion grass

We had an awesome on the tour! For anyone that wants to get connected to nature and take some practical knowledge back with you, I highly recommend. My partner and I have gone twice now, and we will likely be back. Alan led our tour this time and he is deeply knowledgable and has a great sense of humor that made our tour a blast. He's a fungi for sure
