While we had a great time learning about different edible plants and mushrooms in the forests around Asheville, I regret to say that this tour is not worth $75 a person. I had assumed there would be more tastings at the end but instead we were given a cracker with some cooked mushroom on top. We did very much enjoy our tour, and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. But I just can't see where the value is for the price they are currently charging.

Loved this tour. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the different edible plants and berries. Then we had the option of taking our findings to a restaurant the company works with and they made a delicious meal. Overall I would highly recommend this tour

We really love these foraging tours for visits to Asheville and this was our second time. My 7 year old had constant questions and Christian was so sweet she took a moment every time to answer and talk with him. She got down and taught him how to harvest a few of the trickier plants. June was also very kind and informative and cooked us an amazing snack after! She even ran and caught us afterwards with the bag we had forgotten.

When we tell our friends about trips to Ashville this is the single activity that comes up every time.

The option to take some of the harvest to a nice restaurant in town and taste what they create is also really cool and we’ve done that both times as well.

I enjoyed the information given by our knowledgeable guide, Christian, but we did not find much due to the dry conditions ( no mushrooms), and the prevalence of poison ivy, making it very difficult to venture into the woods. We did enjoy the sourwood leaf with tiger lily. Our cooked taster was lily buds and wood nettle sautéd on a cracker. There would not have been enough foraged food to take to a restaurant as was suggested in the information on the tour. I did not feel that my experience was worth $80 per person.

I am 51 and did this tour with my daughters/granddaughter 30 year old, 13 year old and 7 year old. We all had a great time. It is expensive, but you get a lot for your money. The tour wasn't too strenuous ad we had some time on our own to search for mushrooms, which felt like an Easter Egg Hunt! We brought our find back to our guide and she sifted through them all removing any poisonous mushrooms and sharing her knowledge. "When in doubt, throw it out," was the guiding principle, but we did learn a lot. We learned about flowers, trees, and other kinds of plants. It was so interesting. Afterwards, we got to sample what we collected. They set up a camp stove and cooked it up. It was delicious! But the best part was bringing our collection to the Market Place restaurant and having an out-of-this-world delicious appetizer!!! Great experience all around. I highly recommend.

Alan, Natalie, and Ramsey brought our experience to life with their incredible knowledge, energy, and cheer. More than one of us exclaimed after our tour how we were excited to get back to our homes and start foraging! And getting to see our discoveries come to life at a local restaurant (as fresh salads) was such a treat. What a great outfit and experience. Thank you No Taste Like Home!!!

Hannah and Christian are knowledgeable about all things edible in the forest and their style is easy and fun. Our group of 10 adults enjoyed the walk through the woods, learning which flowers are edible and how to spot a Morrell mushroom. Hannah then did a cooking demonstration that we followed with taking our treasures to The Bull and Beggar where the chefs came up with a delicious starter dish for us to share. A great experience overall!

We did the longer foraging tour for my bachelorette celebration. Our guides were Hannah and Steven and they were both absolutely wonderful. Both were full of knowledge and made the experience better than we imagined. Hannah was prepared and purposeful in setting the expectations of how the tour would be, and Steven complimented Hannah so well in adding helpful information.
We had a fantastic time. Highly recommend as a different and adventurous tour!

We decided to try this tour because we had never seen anything like it offered. Ramey and Hannah were fun, knowledgeable, and attentive to the group. My wife and I very much enjoyed several of the plants that we found during our guided experience. I definitely recommend making a reservation at one of their partner restaurants to have your spoils made into a free appetizer.

Natalie our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all our finds in the forest. We thoroughly enjoyed the exploration of the woods of western North Carolina. Tastes of our finds at the end of the tour was a nice bonus. We took our finds to the Market Restaurant dinner and the chef made us a delicious appetizer. Highly Recommended tour!!
