Compared to what I used to visit in NJ,this one is very small and very average, feels almost dead on a week day.It does have Belks and Dillard's which are sufficient, and a big Barnes and Noble.A eat food court.Goid for some quick needs, but for some heavy duty shopping, need to head to Concord or Charlotte.

One would think that whoever is in charge of the large backlit map/directories of stores would bother to post a “You Are Here” notation on the map. No such luck. If you’re unfamiliar with the layout of the Mall, you can start to walk in one direction—only to discover that you have to turn around and walk in the other direction. Yes, this is annoying. Lately, there has been a problem with teenagers running rampant and starting fights in the Mall. This has lead to some very strict rules about not allowing “underage” people in after certain hours. Specifically, the rules state, “Asheville Mall visitors under 18 are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian 21 years or older on Friday and Saturday evenings after 5 p.m., or at any other time the policy is in effect.” Hopefully, this will eliminate any dangerous disruptions. It won’t, however, do anything positive for the lack of signage.

Stopped by to check for an item at Dillard’s and was extremely disappointed. Like many malls across the country, the mall was virtually empty (on a Friday afternoon) with lots of empty storefronts. The only positive is that it was clean and I didn’t see gangs of teenagers loitering or roaming around as noted in some other posts.

For most malls they are closing down stores, I understand from people getting there things from the internet and everything. They have very limited stores that were interesting. Their Barns and Nobels was probably the best store there. It is two levels. The lighting was also very dim for 5pm time, it almost felt like they were turning off the lights.
