Art the center of downtown Asheville, this is a good place to start your expiration of the city. There is a visitor center that has maps, information about attractions, and knowledgeable staff to answer your questions. Good restrooms also.

Really enjoyed our visit for Shindig on the Green. Nice stage set up for artists to perform. Parking was a breeze in the garage on College Street. Restaurants and shops all right there within easy walking distance.

My family and I enjoyed spending Memorial Weekend in Asheville. One of the highlights, which was extremely fitting with the holiday weekend, was seeing the Western NC Veterans Memorial. We just happened upon this memorial while walking around and had no idea it existed prior to that discovery. Very difficult to express in words the respect conveyed with this beautiful... More

Loved it! Lots of places to shop. The street music was fun to listen to. Lots of great places to eat. The Laughing Seed has amazing green juice.

Didn't get a chance to spend a lot of time on the square, but it was surrounding by an exciting city. Had to share this photo of the replica of the Drover's Trail that was used by everyone to bring animals to market. Beautiful.

We went downtown one day of our vacation and we were not impressed. A true tourist trap. We would recommend staying clear of this area.

Even though Asheville is in the mountains, it still gets hot. I had a very short stop in the city and walked through Pack Square using an online Urban trail map. Enough memorials to keep me entertained and a better use of my time than a highway roadstop.

Every city should have such a great walking space. There is something for everyone here: history, ampitheatre, memorials, small museum in the courthouse and a little Splashtown. A don't miss.
