McCormick Field opened its gates for the first time in 1924 when the Asheville Tourists played host to the Detroit Tigers. Over the years the stadium has encountered numerous renovations, most recently a seating bowl makeover in 2015, that has ensured the stadium remains up with the times while keeping its lustrous history and throwback feel. With a capacity of just over 4,000, the dynamic during a game is intimate and scenic. It is a hitter friendly Minor League ballpark thanks to a short porch in right field and a 42-foot high wall in right-center. McCormick Field is still inhabited by the Asheville Tourists, the Single A Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.

What a great, smaller minor league baseball field! Prices are reasonable, concessions also not overpriced, great staff to help find seats, and the Asheville Tourists won the game! The July 4 fireworks after the game were terrific. The sound system could be improved as the...More

I was visiting family for the 4th, and we came to an Asheville Tourists game at McCormick field and had a great time! The ballpark is small (seats only in the infield). We sat three rows behind the net on the first base line, and...More

We had the field suite tickets and it left me wishing more stadiums had an offering like these seats. Players engaged with my kids as they stood "on-deck" Food offering are really good. A neat stadium and experience all the way around!

I would highly recommend visiting if you're in town game night when they offer fireworks. It's a Wonderful display, perfect way to end the evening. Parking could be somewhat problematic would advise arriving early. It's not a huge venue so if you're expecting a Superbowl...More

This is a minor league baseball venue at its best. No seats are bad. The mascots mingle with the crowd, to the delight of any children who are there. Food and drink are not overpriced--and good. Some of the good Asheville craft beers are available...More

We go to minor league games anytime we visit a place that has a team. This one is a blast. Only seats 4,000, so it's small and you can't get far from the action. Lots of food options, old fashioned ballpark fun.

There's always something special for kids there. On Sunday's the kids get to go on the field, meet the players and get autographs. Sometimes there's more. Show up early for more chances at special things going on.
