We saw "The Fantasticks". Seated near back of auditorium, but the seats were great...the place is not large. The atmosphere was good, the volunteers efficient and friendly. And the show---performers were great! Cost was reasonable. Big issue with parking. We went an hour and a half before the performance and rode around for 15 minutes before finding a space. This situation is the norm for Asheville, however.

A Wrinkle in Time has always been one of my favorite books. I saw the movie and thoroughly enjoyed the play. Many talented students in our area. I was impressed with the show's ability to condense the story into a 1-hour play and still cover the important parts. Great Job!!! Enjoyed the play immensely.

We loved the show, actors were fine. The venue is nice and clean but if you are a large person beware- the seats are small and there is absolutely no leg room even for a small person. If you are in the middle of the row and must leave your seat there is no way to climb over-- everyone would have to leave their seat to let you out. We had a fine time though!

Such a great local theatre - it really doesn't seem like there's a bad seat in the house. We went to see Elf to help us get into the Christmas spirit - it was just wonderful. The performances were enjoyable and the sets were outstanding - I can't imagine how much effort goes into the production! We were all singing when we left :)

I just saw "Bright Star" at ACT today, and it was fantastic. The cast was talented, the singing great, the dancing lovely, and the plot full of surprises. This blue grass and folk musical will just be there until May 14th, so grab your ticket NOW!

Saw Flying West. This really is a community theater. Two folks had to pitch in for cast members who were ill. No matter. Everyone was very good. The end of the play is a little hokey but the play highlights an aspect of post Civil War history in a way that is instructive and not heavy handed.

My wife and I saw The Fantasticks for a Velantine's Day treat. This group is truly awesome. We've seen lot of musicals over the years, in local theaters and on Broadway. This group at the ACT is better than many professional groups! Their dedication and quality showed in every song and every move on stage. It was a total delight to see them. I won't have to try to remember, it will be hard to forget!

What more can I say besides the show was brilliant. I would see it again in a heartbeat given the chance.
I am from a very large city with fine live theater and this is on par with what I have seen in my own city.
The acting was superb, the costumes out of this world, singing exceptional
The only thing that distracted from the show and the reason I can’t give 5 bubbles it actually deserves is at the beginning of the show a woman I assume is related in some way to the theater went on a 20 min diatribe on liberal issues and politics. If the theater reads these reviews, please keep your personal politics out of the theater. Your audience is there for a wonderful show with talented artist doing what they do best, not to hear your personal political views. That was a major downer and distracted from the show. Other than that, the show itself was phenomenal.

We celebrated our 1st anniversary by returning to Asheville Community Theater. We saw "Kiss Me Kate" on our honeymoon and "Spamalot" this year. Awesome shows! Theater is clean & comfortable. Actors are wonderful. Both shows were very entertaining. We also recognized one of the actors from last year in this show. He was superb in both! We will be back for another show!

I was not expected to be so entertained as I was with this delightful production of a VERY funny play. The theatre itself is perfect for stage entertainment. It was very obvious great care had been taken to make guests comfortable and feel welcome. The talent of the actors made the whole story come alive with animated puppetry and GREAT voices. From the cute little care bears to the cookie monster, all of the players gave the type of performances any level of theatre would be proud to show. Thanks to the backstage staff, the sound and lights, the users, the directors for making my trip to Asheville a fun day.

Yes! The box office is open at least an hour before the curtain time and unless we are completely sold out, we will have tickets available for purchase at the door.
