Great falls in 35 Below

Incredibly powerful treatment of tough subjects by two amazing actors. For 90 nonstop minutes they kept us riveted in the intimate 35 Below setting. Renee

Great venue, performers
Feb 2020
We saw "The Fantasticks". Seated near back of auditorium, but the seats were great...the place is not large. The atmosphere was good, the volunteers efficient and friendly. And the show---performers were great! Cost was reasonable. Big issue with parking. We went an hour and a half before the performance and rode around for 15 minutes before finding a space. This situation is the norm for Asheville, however.

Awesome community theater!

My wife and I saw The Fantasticks for a Velantine's Day treat. This group is truly awesome. We've seen lot of musicals over the years, in local theaters and on Broadway. This group at the ACT is better than many professional groups! Their dedication and quality showed in every song and every move on stage. It was a total delight to see them. I won't have to try to remember, it will be hard to forget!

Great place to see amazing community talent!

Went to The Wizard of Oz and it was so well done...all volunteer actors. I have seen many plays here and cannot believe how much good talent we have in this community. Tickets are very reasonable and the theatre was recently renovated so very comfortable seating and great sound!. Concessions available with local beer, wine, snacks and sodas.

All of the main characters were fabulas! Especially Dorothy, who was very talented in acting and singing, I really enjoyed the entire play! My 2.5 yr old granddaughter loved it! She sat quietly and was absorbed into the entire play! Very good!

Excellent production! Such eye candy!!! We’ve all seen it but not with these actors, these sets and costumes! You won’t be sorry.

This local charming theatre does an exceptional job with every performance. Nothing "local" about this group. Singing, costumes, and dance all memorable. A must do while in Asheville.

A must visit when in Asheville
Jun 2019
This Community Theatre has been renovated and is lovely. Every seat in the house is a good seat. I went to the theatre to purchase tickets and a box office rep took me inside for a visual since I didn't know where good seating would be; she was very accommodating. The show, Hands on a Hard Body was an entertaining musical (based on a true story). The actors/singers moved around the truck cleverly. If you have never seen trhe show, I won't give away any more details. Based on this show, when I return to Asheville, I will definitely revisit.

High quality local theatre

We lived in New York City (Manhattan) for 13 years and saw tons of theatre, both on- and off-Broadway. About eight months ago, we moved full-time to Asheville after having had a second home here since 2005. We are loving being in Asheville. NYC was a fantastic experience, but we grew weary of the noise, dirt, crowds and expense.

Our new home is ten minutes north of downtown and Asheville Community Theatre is easy to access. Thus far we have been to two productions, one in the black box theatre and a second on the main stage, Hands on a Hardbody. It was really well done, we enjoyed the show very much. The sound cues were a little off, as were a few of the voices, but mostly the talent was very good.

We recommend this show and Asheville Community Theatre!

Hands on a Hard Body- Great show at great theater!

We had no idea what to expect but took the chance with the entire family, including our 11 and 16-year old boys. It was wonderful. It was funny, light-hearted, had a great message and amazing singing talent. My boys loved the music and the bad language was no worse than their experience with the general public. The message was very real and positive. I highly recommend this show and the theater. Thanks ACT!
