My friends and I took this tour a couple of hours after arriving in town, and it did not disappoint. Our guide (sorry....I don't remember his name) was a wealth of knowledge about the history of the city, and got us acquainted with the city in a most interesting and entertaining way. The tour allowed us to figure out some places we wanted to come back to and spend some time (and money!) at during our vacation. There are other services that charge quite a large price for walking tours. This one is free.....just tip-based. And we did tip nicely....it was well worth it.

Jess was a great guide. We learned so much history of this area, and saw some pretty cool art along the way. Tour was much longer than expected (2.5 hours), on a very hot day. But it was worth getting some education about this cool area. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to go back to each of the galleries that Jess pointed out and enjoy more of the art. There were a couple tastings along the way that probably could have been eliminated to shorten the tour.

I discovered an artist in Ponta Delgada who makes the most exquisite hand made paper art. Her name is Anne Bruyere, a French woman who moved to the Azores 20 odd years ago. Her work is truly beautiful and most poetic.
Her studio is on Rua d’Agua. Anne also gives classes in paper art technique that would be well worth attending.
You can reach her at annebruyere@papeldaluaatelier
or call her at. 961 761 404
She is a delightful woman and most welcoming.

We really enjoyed the walking tour of downtown Asheville, led by David. He provided a lot of historical information and a good overview for a first time visitor. I like the fact that he provided info not only about the architecture and history, but also about local events and things to do in Asheville, and pointed out some of the top restaurants. We also really enjoyed the two stops during the tour (the free tasting at Cultivated Cocktails (which was better and more interesting than I had expected!) and the free ice cream samples in the S&W Building). Highly recommend this tour!

Great way to experience downtown Asheville on foot. Jordan was a knowledgeable and fun guide, and we learned a lot about Asheville in a short amount of time. I would recommend doing this as one of your first items on your itinerary so you can get oriented and appreciate the city.

It was such a pleasure to have Jordan, the owner, schedule MV as our tour guide through the Asheville Arts District. She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the Arts District and incorporated that so well into the tour in conjunction with the current state of the key galleries we visited. It was a huge bonus as she took us on two stops to rest along the way to enjoy a free yummy plantain sample, and at the end of the tour a free gelato sample. I would highly recommend scheduling a tour with Jordan’s business. Ask if you can get MV as your tour guide as she is excellent.

I've been to many free walking tours around the world. I was hesitant to book one in Asheville since it's lighter on history than most cities, but since the reviews were so good here I wanted to give it a shot. We had a man in his mid 50's whose name I didn't catch. It felt like we were just walking around listening to his rambling about restaurants he liked - he didn't really have a cohesive story to tell, nor was it engaging. We bailed after 30 minutes.

Ashville is a beautiful southern town. Lots of things to do, charm, shops, parking, parks, friendly people, doing good job with Covid 19.

My fiancé and I loved the free walking tour! It’s refreshing to learn about a city you’ve never been to especially with a local leading the way. Jordan was our tour guide and she was insightful and engaging and a super fun guide. Would totally recommend to anyone! Tour was roughly 2 hours and we did walk/stand most of the time just to keep in mind!

Sarah did a great job telling us about the history of Asheville and orienting us to downtown. She was friendly and entertaining and did a good job managing the group.
