We shall hike c. 2.5 - 3 miles with approx. 60 mins of hiking.

Following a 30 minute drive, we hike to the top of the falls which is about a 30-35 minute hike. En route we discover plant life in the region and watch & listen for wildlife. At the summit we will marvel at the beauty of the falls and enjoy a continental breakfast (sitting on rocks or on the side, there are no picnic tables/chairs). It's beautiful & rustic, as mother nature intended!

Bring a camera, there are lots of things along the way in addition to the falls.

Wear sneakers/hiking boots and dress in layers. It can start out much colder in the morning.

Guests should be in good physical shape and able to hike at a steady pace on a constant climb for 1.5 miles in each direction (up to 3 miles roundtrip). There will be a brook to cross over and a few rocky areas.

If you book a single traveler rate and another person books onto the tour, we will refund you the difference in cost.

Tour starts c.4.45 pm & will return to Asheville c.8.30pm. We start downtown looking at glorious art-deco architecture with a brief history of the area. We'll venture into beautiful countryside see stunning sites & finish off the tour with a sunset view. Even when the clouds roll in, this tour is fabulous as you revel in an 'out of this world' experience.

Rocks can be slippery, we're out in nature please make sure that you're comfortable with hiking. If not, we're happy to put together a private package tailored to your needs.

Wear layers, it can get cold! Closed toed shoes (ie sneakers/hiking boots must be worn). Flip flops/sandals not permitted. We have rain ponchos in case of inclimate weather!

If you book a single traveler rate & other book onto tour, we'll refund difference in cost.

Our tour starts downtown walking and looking at glorious art-deco architecture coupled with a detailed history of the area. Following that, we'll venture into the outskirts of Asheville including the history of the beautiful & historic Montford district. We shall include the glorious Riverside Cemetery as part of our tour. We will stop at graveyards and delve into the intriguing history of many of Asheville's past literary and/or notable residents including William Sydney Porter (aka O'Henry), Thomas Wolfe & the Vanderbilts.

The walking element of the tour is classified as easy to moderate. This tour is for history and architecture buffs!
